eight hundred and seventy-one, the parcel of land
and hereditaments described in the Schedule hereto
was certified to belong to Pita Taurua, of the
District of Coromandel, in the Province of Auckland,
an aboriginal native of New Zealand:
And whereas the said Pita Taurua died intestate:
And whereas at a sitting of the Native Land Court
held at Kapanga, in the Provincial District of Auck-
land, on the tenth day of January, one thousand
eight hundred and seventy-eight, Wiremu Taurua
claimed to succeed to the said Pita Taurua in the
parcel of land described in the said Schedule, and
it was ordered by the said Court that Wiremu
Taurua, an infant under the age of twenty-one years,
should succeed to the said Pita Taurua in the here-
ditaments aforesaid; and it is expedient that Charles
Ring and Richard Coupland be appointed trustees
under the said Act, on behalf of the said Wiremu
Taurua:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of
New Zealand, with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the colony, in exercise and in
pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in
him by the said Act, doth hereby order that the
land and hereditaments described in the Schedule
hereto shall be and remain vested in
CHARLES RING and
RICHARD COUPLAND,
as Trustees, within the meaning and for the purposes
of the said Act, for the said Wiremu Taurua during
his minority.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Province of Auckland,
in the Colony of New Zealand, containing by ad-
measurement seven hundred and eighty (780) acres,
more or less, situate at Coromandel, in the District
of Coromandel, being called or known by the name
of Karaka No. 1. Bounded towards the North
east by Te Ranga Block, already granted; towards
the South-east by the Pukemaukuku Block, already
granted; towards the South by the Pakirikiri Block;
towards the West by the Parangu No. 5 Block, the
Otumohokauri Block, and the Taumatawahine Block;
again towards the South-east by the said Taumata-
wahine Block; towards the South-west by the Kaha-
kaharoa No. 2 Block, and by the Kahakaharoa Block;
and towards the North-west by Crown land.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-first day of January, 1879.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by "The Maori Real Estate Manage-
ment Act, 1867" (hereinafter called "the said
Act"), it is enacted that, if any title to or interest in
any hereditaments shall accrue to any Maoris, who
or any of whom shall be infants, lunatics, or under
legal disability, it shall be lawful for the Governor in
Council, if he think fit, to order that such heredita-
ments, or any part thereof or interest therein as
shall to the Governor in Council be shown to belong
to such infant, or lunatic, other person under legal
disability, shall be vested in trustees, as the Governor
in Council shall think fit:

And whereas by virtue of a Crown grant bearing
date the eleventh day of January, one thousand
eight hundred and sixty-seven, the parcel of land
and hereditaments described in the Schedule hereto
became vested in Pita Taurua, of the District of
Thames, in the Provincial District of Auckland, an
aboriginal native of New Zealand:
And whereas the said Pita Taurua died intestate:
And whereas at a sitting of the Native Land Court
held at Kapanga, in the Provincial District of Auck-
land, on the tenth day of January, one thousand
eight hundred and seventy-eight, Wiremu Taurua
claimed to succeed to the said Pita Taurua in the
parcel of land described in the said Schedule, and it
was ordered by the said Court that Wiremu Taurua,

towards the South-west partly by the Kapanga Road
250 links, 330 links, and 350 links, and partly by a
line 300 links; towards the North-west by lines 520
links, 300 links, and 8955 links; towards the North-
east by lines 335 links, 631 links, 705 links, 276 links,
and 118 links; and towards the South-east by lines
328 links, 266 links, 378 links, 411 links, 1353 links,
556 links, 2987 links, and 82 links, and by the Tau-
matawahine Creek.
