Town of Invercargill proclaimed a Borough under "The
Municipal Corporations Act, 1876."

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the fifteenth section of "The
Municipal Corporation Act 1876," it is
enacted that the Governor may, by Proclamation,
declare any of the several places specified in the
Third Schedule to the said Act in which a Municipal
Corporation has been established under the provi-
sions of an Ordinance of the Province of Otago
intituled "The Otago Municipal Corporations Ordi-
nance, 1865," to be a borough constituted under the
said "Municipal Corporations Act, 1876," from a
day to be named in such Proclamation; subject, how-
ever, to certain conditions in the said section men-
tioned: And whereas the Town of Invercargill, in
the Provincial District of Otago, is one of the places
specified in the said Third Schedule, and a petition
has been presented to His Excellency the Governor
by three hundred and ten of the ratepayers of such
town praying him to constitute such town into a
borough under the said "Municipal Corporations
Act, 1876," and such petition was, on the twenty-
ninth day of September, one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-nine, publicly notified, and no petition
from an equal or greater number of such ratepayers
was presented to his Excellency within two months
after such public notification praying him not to
assent to the prayer of such first-mentioned petition:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, in
exercise and pursuance of all powers and authorities
enabling him in that behalf, doth hereby proclaim and
declare that, from and after the date of this Procla-
mation, the said Town of Invercargill shall be a
borough constituted under the said "Municipal
Corporations Act, 1876," and shall be called the
Borough of Invercargill; and that the boundaries of
such borough shall be those specified in the Schedule
hereto.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial
District of Otago, containing by admeasurement 800
acres, more or less, and being the Town of Invercar-
gill. Bounded towards the North by Block I.,
Invercargill Survey District, 8550 links; towards
the East by the Borough of East Invercargill and
Block I. aforesaid, 11300 links; towards the South
by Block III, Invercargill Survey District, 5200
links; and towards the West by Invercargill Harbour,
14000 links; be all the aforesaid linkages more or

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
second day of December, 1879.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule
hereto was granted to the Superintendent of
the Province of Wellington, on the twentieth day of
June, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-six,
in trust for a town hall: And whereas, in the
opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to vest
the said land in the Waverley Local Board:

Now, therefore, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of
the Executive Council of the said colony, and in the
exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him
by the sixth section of "The Public Reserves Act
Amendment Act, 1878," doth hereby declare that,
from and after the second day of December,
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-nine, the
said reserve shall become vested in the said local
Board, in trust for the purpose as aforenamed.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Wellington, in the Colony of New Zealand, contain-
ing by admeasurement 1 rood, more or less, being
Section No. 326 on the record plan of the Okotuku
Block. Bounded towards the North by the Weraroa
Road 125 links wide, 125 links; and towards the
East, South, and West by Section No. 325, 200 links,
125 links, and 200 links.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
second day of December, 1879.

WHEREAS by the twentieth section of "The
Westland and Nelson Coal Fields Administra-
tion Act, 1877," it is enacted that the Governor may,
by Order in Council, from time to time, reserve such
portions of the lands described in the First, Second,
Third, and Fourth Schedules to the said Act, which,
in his opinion, are required for any of the purposes
in the said section mentioned:

And whereas the lands described in the Schedule
hereto are lands subject to be dealt with under the
