Boundaries of the Borough of Wanganui extended

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by "The Municipal Corporations Act
1876," it is, amongst other things, enacted that
the Governor may at any time, upon the petition of,
the Mayor and Council of a borough, by a Proclama-
tion publicly notified, alter the boundaries of such
borough so as to include therein any part of the
foreshore: And whereas a petition has been pre-
sented to me by the Mayor and Councillors of the
Borough of Wanganui, praying me, amongst other
things, to alter the boundaries of the said borough,
so as to include therein the piece of land described
in the First Schedule hereto, being part of the fore-
shore of the harbour and river of Wanganui:
Now, therefore, I, Hercules George Robert
Robinson, Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
in pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in
me by the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare
that the boundaries of the said borough are hereby
altered, so as to include within the limits of the said
borough the land described in the First Schedule
hereto, and that the said borough shall henceforth be
bounded as specified in the Second Schedule hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Wellington, commencing at a point on the original
high-water mark in line with the south-west side of
Market Square. Bounded towards the North-east by
a right line to the Wanganui River, being the
production of the south-west side of Market Square
aforesaid; towards the South-east by the Wanganui
River to the Wanganui Bridge; towards the South-
west by that bridge to the original high-water mark;
and towards the North-west by the original high-water
mark to the starting point: as the same is delineated
on the plan deposited in the Survey Office, Welling-
ton.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District
of Wellington, bounded towards the East, North-
east, and again towards the East by the Wanganui
River; towards the South-west by Sections Nos. 11,
9, 8, and 7, Block V., Westmere Survey District, and
a road; towards the North-west by Sections Nos. 12,
13, 2 of 14, 1 of 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18 of aforesaid
Block V., and Section No. 19, Block III., said survey
district, to a point in line with the boundary line
between said Section No. 19 and Section No. 14;
thence again towards the North-east to and along the
said boundary to the Wanganui River: as the same
is delineated on the plan deposited in the Survey
Office, Wellington.

authorities enabling me in that behalf, I, Her-
cules George Robert Robinson, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and
declare that, by an Order in Council made under the
provisions of "The Bank Holidays Act, 1873," and
bearing even date herewith, I have declared that
Thursday, the eleventh day of December instant, shall
be a bank holiday within the Boroughs of Inver-
cargill, North Invercargill, East Invercargill, South
Invercargill, Avenal, and Gladstone, under and for
the purposes of the said Act.
