Prison at Ahaura discontinued.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the eighth section of "The Prisons
Act, 1873," it is enacted that, as to any public
prison which the Governor shall be of opinion has
become unfit for the purpose, or unnecessary, or for
any other reason ought to cease to be a public prison,
the Governor may, by Proclamation published in the
New Zealand Gazette, declare that such public prison
shall no longer be a public prison, and upon the
publication of such Proclamation in the New Zealand
Gazette, or from and after any later date fixed in
such Proclamation for the purpose, such public
prison shall cease to be a public prison: And
whereas the prison at Ahaura is unnecessary, and it
is expedient that it shall cease to be a public prison:
Now, therefore, I, Hercules George Robert Robin-
son, Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in
pursuance and exercise of the aforesaid power and
authority, do hereby proclaim and declare that the
said public prison at Ahaura shall, from and after
the first day of January next, cease to be a public
prison.

Sir Hercules George Robert Robinson,
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distin-
guished Order of Saint Michael and Saint
George, Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued
under the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-sixth day of November, in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-nine.

Revoking Proclamation appointing certain Roads in
the Hawksbury Road District Main District
Roads.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by a Proclamation bearing date the
twenty-sixth day of February, one thousand
eight hundred and seventy-five, his Honor James
Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of
Otago, did proclaim and appoint certain roads speci-
fied in the Schedule thereto, and in the Schedule to
this Proclamation, to be main district roads in the
Hawksbury Road District: And whereas the
Hawksbury Road Board have requested his Excel-
lency the Governor to revoke the said Proclamation:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, by virtue and in exer-
cise of the power in him vested in that behalf by
"The Otago Roads Ordinance, 1871," and "The
Abolition of Provinces Act, 1875," and all other
powers thereunto him enabling, doth hereby revoke
the aforesaid Proclamation, and the same is hereby
revoked accordingly.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that road line situate in Hawksbury Survey
District, bounded on one side by Sections numbered
respectively 11, 15, and 12, Block IV., and 1 of 13,
1 of 14, 1 of 15, 1 of 16, 70, 76, 8, 9, and 10, Block
III., and 43, 42, 1 of 45, 47, 41, 40, 39, 38, 37, 36,
60, 35, 34, 33, 32, 31, 57, and 58, Block V.; and on
the other side by Sections numbered respectively 11,
15, and 7, Block IV., and 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9,
and 10, Block III., and 44, 2 of 45, 1 of 45, 47, 48,
49, 50, 51, 1 of 52, 2 of 52, 36, 60, 35, 34, 33, 32, 31,
57, and 58, Block V.

All that road line situate in Hawksbury Survey
District, bounded on one side by part of Section 9,
and 8, 7, 3, 2, 1, 56, and 57, Block V., and 15,
Block VI.; and on the other side by part of Section
