northern boundary of the said Section numbered

said Section numbered 2 to the north-easternmost
corner of Section numbered 7, Block VI., Kauroo
Survey District aforesaid; thence due west, due

on the plan deposited in the Provincial Survey Office,
Dunedin.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Most Honorable George Augustus Con-
stantine, Marquis of Normanby, Earl
of Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and
Baron Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the
County of York, in the Peerage of the
United Kingdom; and Baron Mulgrave
of New Ross, in the County of Wexford,
in the Peerage of Ireland; a Member of
Her Majesty's Most Honorable Privy
Council; Knight Grand Cross of the Most
Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George; Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and
Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued
under the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
thirty-first day of July, in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-eight.

Extending Boundaries of Borough of Maori Hill.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the twenty-fifth section of "The
Municipal Corporations Act, 1876," it is
enacted that the Governor may, by Proclamation, in-
corporate into a borough any district adjacent thereto
not being part of an existing borough, subject to
certain conditions therein particularly specified :
And whereas the Governor did, on the seventh day

of June, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
eight, cause a notice setting forth the boundaries of
the district described in the Schedule hereto to be
published in the Borough of Maori Hill, and in the
said district that it was proposed to incorporate into
the aforesaid borough the said district: And whereas
no petition has been presented to the Governor, as
by the said Act is provided, praying that such district
or part thereof should not be incorporated into the
said borough :

Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and
authorities vested in me by the said "Municipal
Corporations Act, 1876," and of every other power
and authority in that behalf me enabling, do hereby
proclaim and declare that the district the boundaries
whereof are specified in the Schedule hereto is hereby
incorporated into the Borough of Maori Hill.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Provincial District of Otago,
bounded towards the North by a right line due east
from Swampy Hill to the north-eastern corner of
Section numbered 44, Block VIII., North Harbour
and Blueskin Survey District; thence towards the
East and South-east by a line due south to Section
numbered 55, by said Section numbered 55, Section
numbered 58, a road line, Sections numbered re-
spectively 35, 8, 7, a road line, Sections numbered
respectively 5, 6, 14, 17, 10, a road line, Sections
numbered respectively 9, 50, 15, 13, and 12, and a
road line to the Borough of North-East Valley ;
thence by that borough to the Town Belt of Dunedin ;
thence by the said Town Belt to Section numbered
7, Block I., Upper Kaikorai Survey District; thence
towards the South-west by Section numbered 7 afore-
said, across a road line, by Sections numbered respec-
tively 1, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, and 19, Block III.,
Upper Kaikorai Survey District, to Section num-
bered 104; thence by said Section numbered 104, a
road line, Section numbered 10, a road line, and
Section numbered 51, to the Bush Reserve, Block V.,
Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District; towards
the West by Bush Reserve aforesaid, by a road line,
Sections numbered respectively 4 of 40, 3 of 40,
2 of 40, 2 of 38, 61, 4 of 49, 3 of 49, 50, 51, 1 of 52,
53, 54, 55, 9, 10, 11, a road line, and Section numbered
3, to Swampy Hill, the starting point: excluding
from the above area the existing Borough of Maori
Hill.
