roads over the land specified in the Schedule hereto:
Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of all powers
and authorities enabling me in this behalf, do hereby
authorize
LAWRENCE CUSSEN, Esquire,
District Surveyor of Auckland, to take and lay down
roads over the land specified in the Schedule hereto,
and for that purpose to exercise all such powers as
by the said Act may be exercised by a person legally
authorized in that behalf under the said Act.

Authorizing the taking and laying down of Roads over
Land granted in the Hawke's Bay Provincial Dis-
trict.
NORMANBY, Governor.
WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly
intituled "The Native Land Act, 1873," it
is enacted that from and out of any land which may
have heretofore been. or may be granted under the
provisions of any of the Acts thereby repealed, or of
that Act, it shall be lawful for the Governor, at any
time thereafter, to take and lay off for public pur-
poses one or more line or lines of road or railway
through the said lands: Provided that the total

Appointing De Gennes Fraser to lay off a Road in
the Whenuakura District.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and
authority vested in me under certain regula-
tions made by Order in Council dated the nineteenth
day of February, one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-four, and issued under "The New Zealand
Settlements Act, 1863," and the other Acts in such
Order in Council mentioned, I, George Augustus
Constantine, Marquis of Normanby, Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint
DE GENNES FRASER, Esquire,
of Carlyle, an authorized Surveyor, to take and lay
off for public purposes one line of road through the
several lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto;
such road to be taken and laid off subject to the
terms of the said regulations.
SCHEDULE.
SECTIONS 110, 111, 112, 113, and 122, Whenuakura
District, in the Provincial District of Taranaki.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the

Polling-place and Returning Officer appointed for
Knapdale Road Board Elections.
NORMANBY, Governor.
IN pursuance of the powers vested in me by "The
Otago Roads Ordinance, 1871," and "The Aboli-
tion of Provinces Act, 1875," I, George Augustus
Constantine, Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint
Hunter's Store, at Chatton, County of Southland, to
be the polling-place for the Knapdale Road District.
And I do hereby appoint
SAMUEL DUTTON POWDRELL
to be the person by and before whom the first elec-
tions of members of the Board of the said district
shall be held.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this twentieth day of June,
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
eight.
