Notice of Petition.—Certain Land to be added to the
Borough of Green Island.

Colonial Secretary's Office,
Wellington, 18th June, 1878.

HIS Excellency the Governor directs it to be noti-
fied that, unless within two months after the
publication of this notice a petition is presented to
His Excellency, signed by not less than one-third of
the burgesses of the Borough of Green Island, or a
petition signed by not less than one-third of the resi-
dent householders in certain land adjoining the said
borough, praying that such land may not be incor-
porated into the said borough, His Excellency will,
by Proclamation, incorporate into the said borough
the said land, and divide the said land into three
wards.

The boundaries of the district proposed to be
incorporated are as follows :—

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Otago, bounded towards the North-east by Section
No. 36, Block VI., Dunedin and East Taieri Survey
District, to a road line forming the south-eastern
boundary of Section No. 35; thence westerly along
that road line to a point opposite a road line forming
the north-eastern boundary of Section No. 43; thence
to and by that road line along the boundary of Sec-
tions No. 43 and 60 to a point opposite the western
side of the road line running through Section No.
45; thence along that road line through Section No.
45 aforesaid, and Section No. 32, Lower Kaikorai
Survey District, to the nearest road line running
through said Section No. 32; thence westerly along
that road line to Section No. 45; thence to and along
the south-western boundary of Section No. 45, Block
VI., Town Survey District, to Section No. 44, said
block and survey district; thence along the western
boundary of Section No. 44 aforesaid, and that line
produced, to Section No. 82, Ocean Beach Survey
District; thence towards the South by a right line to
the north-eastern corner of Section No. 99, Green
Island Bush Survey District; thence by Section No.
99 aforesaid, and Sections Nos. 98, 97, 96, 95, 94, 93,
92, 91, 90, 89, 88, 87, 86, 85, 84, 83, 82, 81, 80, and
part of 79, of aforesaid survey district; thence
towards the West by Section No. 30 of said survey
district, across a road; again towards the South by a
road; again towards the West by Section No. 41 of
aforesaid survey district, across a road; again towards
the South by a road to the Kaikorai River, by that
river and a reserve; again towards the West by Sec-
tion No. 67, Block VII., Dunedin and East Taieri
Survey District; again towards the South by Section
No. 67 aforesaid; again towards the West by a road,
and across that road, and by Sections Nos. 72 and 40
to a road; thence by a right line to the south-east
corner of Section No. 23, Block VII., Dunedin and
East Taieri Survey District aforesaid, and by said
Section No. 23; towards the North-west by Sections
Nos. 23 aforesaid, and 22 of aforesaid block and sur-
vey district, and Section No. 14, Green Island West
Survey District, and a road; towards the West by a
road line to Section No. 9, Block VII., Dunedin and
East Taieri Survey District aforesaid; towards the
North-west by Section No. 9, a road, and Section No.
2 of said block and survey district, and across a road;
again towards the West by a road line; and again
towards the North-west by a road line forming the
north-western boundaries of Sections Nos. 30, 31, 33,
34, and 35 of aforesaid block and survey district to
the point of commencement: save and excepting the
Borough of Green Island, as already proclaimed.

Registrar of Dogs appointed.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to
appoint

ROBERT THOMSON,
of Milton, to be Registrar of Dogs under "The
Otago Dog Nuisance Ordinance, 1872," within the
County of Taieri; and also to appoint the office of
the Taieri County Council, at Outram, to be the
place where the fees for registration shall be received.

Inspector of Weights and Measures appointed.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to
appoint

Sergeant JOHN NASH,
of the Armed Constabulary Force, to be an Inspector
of Weights and Measures under and for the purposes
of "The Weights and Measures Act, 1868," and
"The Weights and Measures Act Amendment Act,
1873," within the Borough of Nelson, and the
Counties of Waimea and Collingwood.

Public Vaccinators appointed.

IT is hereby notified that, under the provisions of
"The Public Health Act, 1876," His Excellency
the Governor has been pleased to appoint the under-
mentioned gentlemen to be Public Vaccinators, to
perform gratuitous vaccination in accordance with
the provisions of the said Act, and any regulations
made or to be made thereunder, for the districts
mentioned in the Schedule hereto, and set opposite
their names.
