THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.
Fields shall be held shall be altered, and that thence-
forth the boundaries thereof shall be the boundaries
hereinafter described.
THE DISTRICT COURT OF OTAGO GOLD FIELDS.
Description of District.
This district comprises all that area bounded
towards the North by the Provincial District of
Westland, from the mouth of the River Awarua to
Mount Aspiring, thence by the Provincial District
of Canterbury to a point on the said boundary line
due north of Mount St. Bathans; thence towards
the East by a right line due south to the summit
of Mount St. Bathans; thence again towards the
North by a right line due east to the summit of
the Hawkdun Mountains; thence towards the
North-east by right lines from peak to peak along
the said mountains to a point due west of Little
Domett Peak, and thence by a right line to
the summit of Little Domett Peak; thence
towards the East by a right line to the summit of
Kyeburn Hill, thence by right lines from peak to
peak along the summit of the Kakanui Mountains
and a line following the nearest spur to the junction
of the Deepdell Creek with the Waihemo or Shag
River, thence by a right line to the source of
northern branch of the Waikouaiti River, near Dun-
back Hill, thence by that river to a point due east
of Trig. Station E, thence to Trig. Station E,
thence along the summit of the Silver Peak Hills
to Silver Peak, and thence by a right line to the
source of Silver Stream, and along the said stream
to the West Taieri Road; thence towards the South-
east and South by the said road to the boundary of
the hundreds, thence by the boundary of the hundreds
to the east branch of the Tokomairiro River, thence
by the said river to the Main South Road, by the
Main South Road to Lovell's Creek, by Lovell's to
the south-west boundary of Run No. 54, by the said
boundary of said run to the Crookburn, and by the
Crookburn to its junction with the Clutha River,
and thence by a right line to a point twenty (20)
chains due west of the Clutha River; thence towards
the West by a line parallel to the Clutha River to a
point due east of Spylaw Hill; thence again towards
the South and South-east by a right line to the
summit of Spylaw Hill, thence by a right line to the
source of Spylawburn, thence by the Spylawburn to
its junction with the Pomahaka River, thence by the
Pomahaka River to the confluence of the Parasol
Creek, thence by the said creek to its source, and by
a right line thence to the summit of Black Umbrella
Mountain, thence by right lines from peak to peak
along the range between the western branch of the
Waikaka River and the Otama Creek to the southern
boundary of Run No. 193, and by that boundary to
the Mataura River; thence towards the West by the
Mataura River to its source, and by a right line to
the summit of Eyre Peak, and thence by right lines
from peak to peak along the western watershed of
Lake Wakatipu to a point due east of Mount
Christina; thence again towards the South by a
right line to the summit of Mount Christina, by a
right line thence to the nearest source of the Cleddau
River, and by that river and the southern shore of
Milford Sound to the sea; and thence again towards
the West by the sea to the mouth of the Awarua
River, the commencing point.

Most Honorable George Augustus Con-
stantine, Marquis of Normanby, Earl of
Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and
Baron Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the
County of York, in the Peerage of the
United Kingdom; and Baron Mulgrave
of New Ross, in the County of Wexford,
in the Peerage of Ireland; a Member of
in the Peerage of Ireland; a Member of
Her Majesty's Most Honorable Privy
Council; Knight Grand Cross of the Most
Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George; Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued
under the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
eighteenth day of June, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-eight.

"Auckland Dog Nuisance Act, 1854," in force within
the County of Hobson.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by an Act of the Provincial Council
of Auckland intituled "The Auckland Dog
Nuisance Act (Session I., No. 4), 1854," it is, among
other things, enacted that the said Act shall come
into operation in such districts as shall be proclaimed
by the Superintendent in the Auckland Provincial
Gazette to come within the operation of the said Act:
And whereas the powers vested in the Superin-
tendent by the said Act are now, by "The Abolition
of Provinces Act, 1875," vested in the Governor:
And whereas it is expedient to proclaim that the
district comprised in the County of Hobson shall
come within the operation of the said first-men-
tioned Act:
Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that,
on and from the date of this Proclamation, the said
"Dog Nuisance Act, 1854," shall come into operation
within the district comprised in the County of
Hobson, and the said Act shall extend and apply
to the said County of Hobson accordingly.
