Gold-Mining Leases to be granted.
PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of
“The Mines Act, 1877,” and with the regulations
made under that Act for the granting of leases for
gold-mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is
intended to grant leases for gold-mining purposes
of Crown lands to the applicants specified in the
annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objec-
tions against such leases.
Objections to the granting of such leases, stating
the grounds of objection, must be made in writing,
and lodged with the Warden at Havelock, on or before
the 20th day of March, 1878.
Copies of the applications made and plans annexed
may be seen at the Warden’s Office at Collingwood.
SCHEDULE.
JOHN RAGG and PARTY. Style under which it is
intended to conduct the business: “The Queen
Charlotte Company.” 11 acres 2 roods 20 perches,
in the Wairau Mining District.
RICHARD NICHOLLS and PARTY. Style under which
it is intended to conduct the business: “The Picton
and Havelock Gold-Mining Company.” 16 acres, in
the Wairau Mining District.

eight hundred and seventy-eight.

SCHEDULE.
THOMAS LOGAN and others, on behalf of the Glad-
stone Gold-Mining Company (Limited). For six
acres of land, more or less, as the same may be found
after survey to be within the pegs and trenches of
the applicants; situated at the north-west of Sawyers’
Gully, near Macetown, and now held by the appli-
cants as an ordinary quartz claim.

situated at the south-west boundary of the Mary-
borough and All Nations claims.

IT is hereby notified that His Excellency the
Governor has approved, under the provisions of
the 148th section of “The Land Act, 1877,” of the
intended change of purpose of the reserves specified
in the Schedule hereto.
