Directing a Reserve in Canterbury to be sold.

NORMANBY, Governor.

IN pursuance of the power and authority vested in
me by the second section of "The Public Re-
serves Sale Act, 1877," I hereby direct the Commis-
sioner of Crown Lands at Christchurch to sell and
dispose of by public auction the land described in
the Schedule hereto, altogether or in lots, as he
thinks best.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Canterbury, containing by admeasurement two (2)
acres and two (2) roods, more or less, being part of
Section numbered three hundred and sixty-eight
(368), situate in the Township of Waimate. Bounded
towards the North-east by High Street, five hundred
(500) links; towards the South-east by Queen Street,
five hundred (500) links; towards the South-west by
Sections Nos. 93 and 94, five hundred (500) links;
and towards the North-west by Sharman Street, five
hundred (500) links: be all the aforesaid linkages
more or less, as the same is delineated on the plans
deposited in the Provincial District Survey Office,
Christchurch.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this eleventh day of February,
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
eight.

Alteration of Boundaries in Hawke's Bay, under
"The Highways Act, 1871."

NORMANBY, Governor.

IN exercise of the powers conferred by the Act of
the Provincial Council of Hawke's Bay intituled
"The Highways Act, 1871," and now vested in me
by "The Abolition of Provinces Act, 1875," I,
George Augustus Constantine, Marquis of Nor-
manby, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
do hereby notify that the boundaries of the several
highway districts named in the Schedule hereto are
hereby altered, so that the boundaries of such dis-
tricts shall henceforth be those set forth in the said
Schedule in relation to the name of each district.

SCHEDULE.

TAMUMU DISTRICT.

THE boundary starts at the sea-coast at Blackhead,
at the junction with the Eparaima District, runs
along the northern boundary of that district to the
Tangituporo Stream, and down that stream to the
Tukituki River, and down that river to the mouth of
the Mangarara Stream, and up that stream to the
north-west boundary of Block No. 30, Mangakuri
District; thence along the north-west boundary of
that block to its north-west corner; thence along the
eastern boundary of Block No. 46, Tarawera District,
to the Omakere Stream; thence up that stream to
the northern boundary of Block No. 10, Pourerere
District; thence along the northern boundary of
that block and of Block No. 5 to the sea-coast at
Paoanui, and along the sea-coast in a southerly
direction to the starting point at Blackhead.

OERO DISTRICT.

The boundary starts at the sea-coast at Paoanui at
the northern boundary of the Tamumu District,
follows along the northern and eastern boundaries of
that district to the Tukituki River, down that river
to the mouth of the Hawea Stream, and up that
stream to the northern boundary of Block No. 63,
Oero District; thence along that boundary and the
northern and eastern boundaries of Block No. 68 to
the northern boundary of the Te Apiti Native Block,
along that boundary to the sea-coast, and along the
sea-coast in a southerly direction to the starting
point at Paoanui.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this eleventh day of February,
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
eight.

Notification of the Payment of Money on, and Entry
into Negotiations for, the Purchase or Acquisition of
Native Lands in the North Island.

NORMANBY, Governor.

IN pursuance of the provisions of "The Government
Native Land Purchases Act, 1877," it is hereby
notified that money has been paid by or on behalf of
Her Majesty the Queen for the purchase or acquisi-
tion of the several blocks of Native land in the North
Island which are more particularly described and
mentioned in the Schedule hereto; and, further, that
negotiations in respect of such purchases or acquisi-
tions as aforesaid have been entered into by or on
behalf of Her said Majesty.

SCHEDULE.

OTAIRI.

ALL that block or parcel of land in the Wanganui
District, in the Provincial District of Wellington,
containing by estimation 100,000 acres or there-
abouts, known by the name of Otairi. Boundaries
commencing at Te Kei Kei, thence to Okota, thence
to Te Whakaroro, thence to Ratahauhau, thence to
Piha, thence in a north-easterly direction to Pukeroa,
thence to Mangapapa, thence along the Mangapapa
Stream to its junction with Mangaone at Kumuiti,
thence to Mangatewheka, thence along the Rangitikei
River to Te Rata, thence to Oao, thence to Ohingaiti,
and thence to Te Kei Kei, the starting point. This
block has not passed the Native Land Court.

RUNANGA No. 1.

All that block or parcel of land in the Taupo Dis-
trict, in the Provincial District of Auckland, known
by the name of Runanga No. 1, containing by ad-
measurement 43,400 acres or thereabouts. Bounded
towards the North and North-east by lines 17441
links, 44953 links, 12510 links, and 11526 links;
towards the South-east by a line 8059 links; towards
the East by lines 8368 links, 6868 links, 12973 links,
15009 links, 12402 links, and 10386 links; towards
the South by a line 5785 links; and towards the
South-west by the Waipunga River to its junction
with the Waiarua Stream, by a portion of the said
stream, by lines 12466 links, 9435 links, and 1861
links, and by the Otamatea Creek; and towards the
North-west also by the Otamatea Creek, being the
north-eastern boundary of the Runanga No. 2 Block:
as delineated on a plan deposited in the Native Land
Court Office, Auckland. This block has passed the
Native Land Court.

RUNANGA No. 2.

All that block or parcel of land in the Taupo Dis-
trict, in the Provincial District of Auckland, known
by the name of Runanga No. 2, containing by
admeasurement 45,100 acres or thereabouts.
Bounded towards the East by the Otamatea Stream
and by a line 1981 links; towards the North-
east by lines 9438 links, 12466 links, the Waiarua
Stream, and by a line 5785 links; again towards the
East by a line 24100 links; towards the South by a
line 38000 links; towards the West by the Whare-
toto Block 7600 links, 20610 links, the Tirikahu
