| Bounded towards the North-west from the ocean by the middle of the Taunga- tara River to its source, thence by a right line to the summit of Mount Eg- mont; thence towards the North by a right line to the source of the Patea River, thence by the centre of said river to the eastern boundary of Ahuroa Block, thence by said boundary to the eastern corner of said block, thence by a right line from said corner to the south-western corner of the Mangaotuku Block, thence by the southern boundary of said block to the summit of the western watershed of the Wanganui River near the eastern corner of said Mangaotuku Block; thence towards the East by lines from hill to hill along the summit of the said water- shed by Mataimoana, Taumatarata, Tau- rangapiopio to Paparangiora; thence along the watershed of the Waitotara River and the Kai-Iwi Stream to Tutu- kaikatoa, thence by a ridge and the summit of the Rangitatau Range to the nearest point to Aramaire Trigonometri- cal Station, thence by a right line to the north-east corner of the Auroa Native Reserve, thence by the northern boundary of the Waitotara Block to the Waitotara River, and thence by the middle of that river to the ocean; and towards the South-west by the ocean to the mouth of the Taungatara River, the commencing point. |

Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and Baron
Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the County
of York, in the Peerage of the United
Kingdom; and Baron Mulgrave of New
Ross, in the County of Wexford, in the
Peerage of Ireland; a Member of Her
Majesty's Most Honorable Privy Council;
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Dis-
tinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George; Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and
Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the Govern-
ment House, at Wellington, this eleventh
day of February, in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and seventy-eight.

which in his opinion are required for any of the
purposes in the said section mentioned :
Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the
powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act,
do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in
the Provincial District of Auckland described in the
Schedule hereunder written, for the purpose in the
said Schedule specified.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Auckland, containing by admeasurement twenty-one
(21) acres and one (1) rood, more or less, being
Allotment numbered thirty-eight (38) of Section
numbered two (2) of the Parish of Takapuna, in the
Rangitoto Survey District. Bounded towards the
North-east and South by the sea; towards the
South-west by Allotment No. 134, one thousand
three hundred and thirty (1330) links; and towards
the North-west by the termination of a road and
Allotment No. 12, one thousand and sixteen (1016)
links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.
For public defence.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this eleventh day of February,
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
eight.

NORMANBY, Governor.
WHEREAS by the one hundred and forty-fourth
section of "The Land Act, 1877," it is enacted
that the Governor may from time to time, either by
general or particular description, and whether the
same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale
temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be
then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands
which in his opinion are required for any of the pur-
poses in the said section mentioned :
Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,

acres, more or less, situate in the Town of Huirangi,
being Sections numbered one hundred and thirty-
eight (138), one hundred and thirty-nine (139), one
hundred and forty (140), one hundred and forty-one
(141), one hundred and forty-two (142), one hundred
and fifty-two (152), one hundred and fifty-three
(153), one hundred and fifty-four (154), one hundred
and fifty-five (155), one hundred and fifty-six (156),
one hundred and sixty-six (166), one hundred and
sixty-seven (167), one hundred and sixty-eight (168),
one hundred and sixty-nine (169), one hundred and
seventy (170), one hundred and seventy-one (171),
one hundred and seventy-two (172), one hundred
and seventy-three (173), one hundred and seventy-
four (174), and one hundred and seventy-five (175).
As a reserve for recreation purposes.
