The Kaikoura Subdivision.
Bounded towards the East by the sea from the
mouth of the River Conway to the mouth of the
River Kekerangu; thence North by the River Keke-
rangu to the junction of Benmore Stream; thence
by that stream to its source; thence by a tributary
of the River Ure to the southern boundary of the
Chalk Range Run; thence by the southern boundary
of the Chalk Range Run to the Upton Fells Run;
thence by the southern boundary of Upton Fells
Run to Upton Fells Run No. 2; thence by the
south-eastern and south-western boundaries of Upton
Fells Run No. 2 to Section No. 11 on the Upton Fells
Run; thence by that section to the eastern boundary
of the Camden Run No. 2; thence by that boundary
and the southern boundaries of Camden Run No. 2
to the summit of the dividing range between the
Awatere and Clarence Valleys; thence on the West
by a line along the said summit to Lake McRae Run;
thence by the eastern boundaries of that run to the
boundary line of the Marlborough Provincial District;
thence on the South by that boundary line to the
mouth of the River Conway.
The Awatere Subdivision.
Bounded towards the East by the sea from the
mouth of Kekerangu River to the mouth of the
Awatere River; thence on the North and West by
the Awatere River from its mouth to a point on
Section 30, Wakefield Downs (being the south-
western corner of the Vernon Run); thence by a
right line to the south-western corner of Section 29,
Wakefield Downs; thence by the eastern side of the
road between Sections 33 and 29, Wakefield Downs,
and Sections 4 and 2, of Block I., District of Awa-
tere, to the Utawai Stream; thence by the Utawai
Stream to the northern boundary of Section 2, of
Block I., District of Awatere; thence along that
boundary to Maxwell Pass Stream; thence by the
Maxwell Pass Stream to the watershed; thence by
a tributary of the Taylor River to the Taylor River
at the base of a hill called the "Maori;" thence by
the northern boundaries of the Dumgree and
Blairich Runs to the summit of the dividing range
between the Awatere and Wairau Valleys to Lang-
ridge Run No. 2; thence by the western boundary
of that run to the summit of the range; thence by
the said summit to Saxon's Pass; thence by the
stream running out of Saxon's Pass to the Acheron
River; thence by that river to the junction of the
Saxon; thence by the Saxon for a distance of two
hundred and ten (210) chains; thence by a line due
east and west to the boundary line of the provincial
district; thence by that boundary line to the Kai-
koura Subdivision; thence on the South by the Kai-
koura Subdivision, to the mouth of the Kekerangu
River.
The Blenheim Subdivision.
Bounded towards the East by the sea from the
mouth of the Awatere River to the north-east corner
of Native Reserve at White's Bay; thence on the
North by a right line to the north-eastern corner of
Section 37, Picton Suburban; thence by the north-
ern boundary of that section produced to the Tua
Marina River; thence by the northern boundary of
the Raydale Run to the north-west corner of that
run; thence by a right line to the north-western
corner of Section 9, Okaramio Valley; thence by a
right line to the north-eastern corner of Section 72,
Havelock Suburban; thence by a right line to the
south-west corner of Section 85, Havelock Suburban;
thence by the watershed between Atuhaua Stream
and the Kaituna River to the watershed between the
Wairau and Pelorus Valleys, and by that watershed
to the boundary of the provincial district; thence
on the West by that boundary to the Awatere Sub-
division; and thence on the South by that subdivision
to the sea.
The Picton Subdivision.
The remainder of the Provincial District of Marl-
borough.
CANTERBURY DISTRICT.
The Canterbury District is bounded towards the
North by the southern boundary of the Provincial
District of Nelson, from the mouth of the Hurunui
to the saddle between the Hurunui and Teremakau
Rivers, thence by a right line from peak to peak to
the saddle at the source of the Dobson River, thence
by the north bank of that river to its junction with
the Ohau Lake, thence along the north bank of the
Ohau Lake to the Ohau River, thence along the
north bank of the Ohau River to its junction with
the Waitaki, thence along the north bank of the
Waitaki River to the ocean, and thence by the ocean
to the starting point at the mouth of the Waiau-ua
River; and shall comprise the following subdivisions:---
The Northern Subdivision.
Bounded on the North by the northern boundary
of the Canterbury Sheep District; on the West by
the western boundary of said district; on the South
by the north branch Waimakariri River from its
source; on the East by the ocean.
The Christchurch Subdivision.
Bounded on the North by the Northern Subdivision;
on the West by the western boundary of Canterbury
Sheep District; on the South by the north bank
Rangitata River from its source to the ocean; on the
East by the ocean.
The Southern Subdivision.
Bounded on the North by the Christchurch Sub-
division; on the West by the western boundary of
Canterbury Sheep District; on the South by southern
boundary of Canterbury Sheep District; on the East
by the ocean.
OTAGO DISTRICT.
The Otago District is bounded towards the
North by the southern boundary of the Pro-
vincial District of Canterbury from the mouth of
the Waitaki River to the saddle at the source of
the Dobson River, thence by a right line from peak
to peak of the Southern Alps to the summit of Mount
Aspiring, thence by a right line to the mouth of the
Awarua River; thence to the West, South, and East
by the ocean to the starting point at the mouth of
the Waitaki River, and shall include Stewart Island
and Ruapuke Island; and shall comprise the follow-
ing subdivisions:---
The Oamaru Subdivision.
Bounded on the North by the southern boundary of
the Sheep District of Canterbury from the mouth of
the Waitaki to the saddle at the source of the Dobson
River, thence by the north-west boundary of Otago
Sheep District to the saddle at the source of the
Hunter River, thence by the north bank of that river
to the Hawea Lake, thence by the north bank of the
Hawea Lake to the junction of the Dingle, thence by
the said river to its source, thence by a right line to
the summit of Longslip Mountains, thence by a
right line to Mount St. Bathans, thence by the
Hawkdun and Kakanui Mountains to the main Shag
Valley Road at the point of the Kakanui Mountains,
thence by the north bank of the Shag River to the
ocean, thence to the starting point at mouth of the
Waitaki.
The Dunstan Subdivision.
Bounded on the North-west by the Otago Sheep
District boundary; towards the North-east by the
boundary of Oamaru Subdivision; South and South-
