SCHEDULE K.

RESERVE No. 16, Allotment 27, Parish of Rangi-
taiki. Native Burial Reserve for the Ngatiawa
(Whakatane section) and Ngatipukeko tribes.
Bounded on the North by the Bay of Plenty; on
the East by waste land; on the South by Whaka-
tane River and public road; on the West by Allot-
ment 28, Native Reserve. Commencing at the point
where Matata public road leaves Whakatane River;
thence following public road in a north-westerly
direction six hundred and ninety-eight (698) links,
six hundred and ninety-two (692) links; thence in a
north-easterly direction, two thousand four hundred
and ninety (2490) links, to sea-coast, being part of
eastern boundary of Allotment 28; thence following
sea-coast in an easterly direction, three thousand and
ninety-seven (3097) links; thence in a south-westerly
direction, three hundred and ninety-one (391) links,
to the Whakatane River; thence following the river
in a south-westerly direction to point of commence-
ment.

SCHEDULE L.

RESERVE NO. 17, Parish of Waimana. Awarded to
Ngatipukeko tribe (both sections). Containing fif-
teen acres, more or less.
Bounded on the North by Crown lands; on the
South by Crown lands; on the East by Crown
lands; on the West by public road and the Wha-
katane River. Commencing at a point three hundred
and eighty-five (385) links east of north-east corner
of Ngatiawa Reserve; thence in a south-easterly
direction, one thousand one hundred and eighty-five
(1185) links; thence in a north-easterly direction,
one thousand four hundred and ninety-five (1495)
links; thence in a north-westerly direction, eight
hundred and ninety-seven (897) links; thence in a
south-westerly direction, one thousand four hundred
and seventy-eight (1478) links, to point of com-
mencement.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the
most Honorable George Augustus Con-
stantine, Marquis of Normanby, Earl of
Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and Baron
Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the County
of York, in the Peerage of the United
Kingdom; and Baron Mulgrave of New
Ross, in the County of Wexford, in the
Peerage of Ireland; a Member of Her
Majesty's Most Honorable Privy Council;
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Dis-
tinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George; Governor and Com-
mander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's
Colony of New Zealand and its Depen-
dencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same;
and issued under the Seal of the said
Colony, at the Government House, at
Wellington, this twenty-ninth day of
January, in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and seventy-
eight.

a portion of the County of Wairoa.

A PROCLAMATION.

W
HEREAS by an Act of the Provincial Council
of Auckland intituled "The Dog Nuisance

Act (Session I., No. 4), 1854," it is, among other
things, enacted that the said Act shall come into
operation in such districts as shall be proclaimed
by the Superintendent in the Auckland Provincial
Gazette to come within the operation of the said Act:
And whereas the powers vested in the Superin-
tendent by the said Act are now, by "The Abolition
of Provinces Act, 1875," vested in the Governor :
And whereas it is expedient to proclaim that the
district the boundaries whereof are set forth in the
Schedule hereto shall be proclaimed to come within
the operation of the said first-mentioned Act :
Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
powers and authorities vested in me by the said Acts,
do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after
the date of this Proclamation, the said "Dog Nuisance
Act, 1854," shall come into operation within that
portion of the County of Wairoa the boundaries
whereof are described in the Schedule hereto; and
the said Act shall extend and apply to such district
accordingly.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Provincial District of Auckland
in the Colony of New Zealand, bounded towards
the North by a right line from the junction of the
Rangitaiki River, and the Main Road from Napier
to Tapuaeharuru, to the most northerly point of
Waikare-Moanae thence by a right line to Puketapu,
thence by the centre of the Ruakituri River to its
confluence with the Huangaroa River, thence by a
right line to Paritu; towards the East by the ocean
to a point where the 39th parallel of latitude inter-
sects the coast line; towards the South by the 39th
parallel of latitude to a point across the Main Road
from Napier to Tapuacharuru on the boundary of
the Hawke's Bay County; and towards the West by
the Main Road from Napier to Tapuaeharuru, to the
starting point.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Most Honorable George Augustus Con-
stantine, Marquis of Normanby, Earl of
Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and Baron
Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the County
of York, in the Peerage of the United
Kingdom; and Baron Mulgrave of New
Ross, in the County of Wexford, in the

Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
