Regulations under "The Stamp Fee Act, 1865."
NORMANBY, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-third day of October, 1877.
Present:
His EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by "The Stamp Act, 1875," and "The
Stamp Fee Act, 1875," the Governor is em-
powered by Order in Council to make regulations
not inconsistent with the provisions of the said Acts
for the conduct of all persons concerned in the
carrying the same into effect:
And whereas it is expedient to make special pro-
vision for allowance for spoiled stamps used in pay-
ment of fees under the Land Transfer Act:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the Colony, in pursuance and exercise of
the above-recited power and authority, doth hereby
make the regulations hereinafter contained, that is
to say,-
If it shall be made to appear to the Commissioner
or a Deputy Commissioner of Stamps, by the certi-
ficate of any District Land Registrar, that stamps in
respect of which allowance is claimed have been used
in payment of fees under the Land Transfer Act, and
that the claimant is entitled to a refund of such fees,
or of any portion thereof, it shall be lawful for the
Commissioner or a Deputy Commissioner to make
such allowance without further evidence.
Such allowance, subject to the usual deduction at
the rate of two and a half per cent., shall be made
by order on the Treasury at any time upon produc-
tion of the certificate aforesaid.
The Commissioner or Deputy Commissioner shall
dispense with the surrender of any document to
which such stamps are affixed, if the District Land
Registrar shall certify that such document is in his
custody, and that it is necessary that the same should
be retained as a record of his office: Provided that
such stamped document shall be produced for the
satisfaction of the Commissioner or Deputy Com-
missioner, and the stamp or stamps thereon shall be
by him cancelled and obliterated.

Conditions for Trout Fishing in River Waihopai,
Southland.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities vested
in him by "The Salmon and Trout Act, 1867,"
His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New
Zealand doth hereby make the following regulations
for the District of Southland :-
REGULATIONS.

These regulations shall come into force on the
first day of November, one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-seven. -
Any holder of a license, as hereinafter men-
tioned, may fish with rod and line for trout in the
River Waihopai from the first day of November next
until the thirty-first day of March, one thousand
eight hundred and seventy-eight. -
Licenses to fish with rod and line in the said
river will be issued under the hand of the Secre-
tary to the Southland Acclimatisation Society at
Invercargill, and for every license a fee of twenty
shillings will be charged. -
No license shall authorise any person other
than the person named therein to fish, and that only
with rod and line. -
Any person fishing without a license, or any
person who shall on demand of any person holding
and showing a license, or on the demand of any
police officer or constable, fail to produce and show
to such person, police officer, or constable his license,
shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding twenty
pounds.
Alteration of Boundaries of Coromandel Highway
District.
NORMANBY, Governor.
UNDER and in pursuance of the powers vested in
me by the Act of The Provincial Council of
Auckland intituled "The Highways Act, 1874," and
"The Abolition of Provinces Act, 1875," I do here-
by notify that from and after the date hereof the
boundaries of the Coromandel Highway District
shall be those set forth in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
COMMENCING at high watermark at a point three (3)
chains north of a road and track leading from Coro-
mandel to Whangapoa. Bounded towards the South
and South-west by a line running parallel thereto
three chains from the said road and track leading
from Coromandel to Whangapoa; thence to the Wai-
te-kuri Creek, following the course of said creek to
the sea; towards the East by high watermark to a
point three chains on the northern side of the mouth
of the Harataunga River (Kennedy Bay); towards
the North by a direct line from high watermark on

All trout not exceeding seven inches in length
taken by any person fishing as aforesaid shall be
immediately returned alive to the said river, and any
person convicted of infringing this regulation shall
be liable to a penalty not exceeding twenty pounds
sterling, and his license shall thereupon become void. -
Except as aforesaid, no person shall fish or use
any net or other engine, instrument, or device for
taking fish in any river or stream within the Coun-
ties of Fiord, Wallace, and Southland, and all persons
offending against this regulation shall be liable to a
penalty not exceeding fifty pounds. -
Any person who puts, throws, or places, or
allows to be put, thrown, or placed into any river or
stream in the said Counties of Fiord, Wallace, and
Southland, any dynamite or other explosive substance,
or any matter or liquid deleterious to fish, shall be
liable to a penalty not exceeding one hundred
pounds.
