Proclaiming West Harbour a Borough under "The
Municipal Corporations Act, 1876."

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section seventeen of "The Muni-
cipal Corporations Act, 1876," the Governor is
empowered, by Proclamation, to declare any district
in New Zealand to be a borough under the said Act
from and after a day to be named in such Proclama-
tion:
Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
power and authority vested in me by the said Act, do
hereby proclaim and declare that the district of North-
East Valley shall be and the same is hereby con-
stituted, as from the twentieth day of October, one
thousand eight hundred and seventy-seven, a borough
under the said Act; and that the name of such
borough shall be the Borough of West Harbour, and
the boundaries of such borough shall be those speci-
fied in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Provincial District of Otago, in
the Colony of New Zealand, bounded towards the
North-east by a line commencing at a point at
Pelichet Bay, and forming the south-western bound-
ary of Section 51, Block IX, North Harbour and
Blueskin Survey District, one thousand and ninety
(1090) links; thence towards the North-west by a
right line to Trigonometrical Station E, said district,
twelve thousand two hundred and fifty (12250)
links; also by another right line from said Trigono-
metrical Station E to the north-eastern corner of
Section 37, Block IX., said district, twelve thousand
three hundred and eighty (12380) links; thence
towards the South-west by Section 37 and part of
Section 36, Block IX., one thousand four hundred
and four (1404) links; thence again towards the
North-west by a part of Section 33, said block, eight
hundred and five (805) links; thence again towards
the South-west by a right line to and along the north-
eastern boundary of Section 82, North-East Valley
District, to a point on the main road from Dunedin
to Port Chalmers, three thousand three hundred and
eighty (3380) links; thence towards the North and
North-west by the main road from Dunedin to Port
Chalmers, sixteen thousand six hundred (16600)
links; thence again towards the North-east by a road
line, one thousand five hundred and ninety (1590)
links; and thence towards the South-east and South-
west by the Otago Harbour, sixty thousand and
thirty-six (60036) links to the starting point; be all
the aforesaid linkages more or less, as the same is
more particularly delineated on the plan deposited in
the Survey Office, Dunedin.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Most Honorable George Augustus Con-
stantine, Marquis of Normanby, Earl of
Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and Baron
Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the County
of York, in the Peerage of the United
Kingdom; and Baron Mulgrave of New
Ross, in the County of Wexford, in the
Peerage of Ireland; a Member of Her
Majesty's Most Honorable Privy Coun-
cil; Knight Grand Cross of the Most
Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George; Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same; and
issued under the Seal of the said Colony,
at the Government House, at Wellington,
this twentieth day of October, in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-seven.

Members and Auditors of Pukekaroro Highway Board
appointed.
NORMANBY, Governor.
WHEREAS at the annual meeting of the rate-
payers of the Pukekaroro Highway District,
in the Provincial District of Auckland, held on the
fourteenth day of July last, there were not present
at such meeting ten qualified persons as is required
by section thirteen of "The (Auckland) Highways
Act, 1874," and such meeting was adjourned as is
authorized by the fourteenth section of that Act to
the twenty-first day of July last; and on that day,
there then being no quorum present, such meeting
was further adjourned until the twenty-eighth day
of July last, but no quorum was present on such day,
and no further adjournment was made; and it is
expedient to appoint a District Board and Auditors,
as is authorized by the said Act:
Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the
powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act,
and by "The Abolition of Provinces Act, 1875," do
hereby appoint
DAVID BALDERSTON,
THOMAS WHATOFF WEBSTER,
ROBERT S. Ross,
THOMAS W. Dowson, and
JAMES HASTIE,
to be the District Board of the Pukekaroro Highway
District for the ensuing year.
And I do further appoint
JOHN CAMERON, and
FREDERICK CLARK,
to be Auditors of the aforesaid Highway Board for
the ensuing year.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this nineteenth day of Octo-
ber, one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-seven.

Auditors of Ponsonby and or Dedwood Highway
Board appointed.
NORMANBY, Governor.
WHEREAS the annual meeting of the ratepayers
of the Ponsonby and or Dedwood Highway
District, in the Provincial District of Auckland, held
on the twenty-first day of July last, neglected to
elect Auditors as is required by section seventeen of"The (Auckland) Highways Act, 1874," and it is
expedient to appoint Auditors as is authorized by
the said Act:
Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the
powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act,
and by "The Abolition of Provinces Act, 1875," do
hereby appoint
JAMES STODART, and
FREDERICK MATTHEWS,
to be Auditors of the aforesaid Highway Board for
the ensuing year.
As witness the hand of his Excellency the
Governor, this nineteenth day of Octo-
ber, one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-seven.
