LAND TRANSFER ACT NOTICE.
NOTICE is hereby given, that MARGARET
MITCHELL, Widow of DAVID MITCHELL, late
of Victoria Parade, Fitzroy, in the Colony of Victoria,
Gentleman, deceased, claiming as Devisee under the
Will of the said David Mitchell, has, by her At-
torney, John Walker Mitchell, of Invercargill, in the
Colony of New Zealand, Merchant, applied to the
District Land Registrar of the District of Southland
to be registered as proprietor of an estate of freehold
in Section 10 (ten), Block LI. (fifty-one), of the Town
of Invercargill aforesaid; and that the said Margaret
Mitchell will be so registered unless caveat forbidding
the same be lodged here within one calendar month
from the date of gazetting this notice.
Dated at the Lands Registry Office, at Invercargill,
this 13th day of August, 1877.

ELLIOT, of Melbourne, in the Colony of
Victoria, Bank Manager; FREDERICK JAMES
HICKLING, of Warrnambool, in the said colony,
Bank Manager; and EMILY WEBSTER, Widow of
GEORGE WEBSTER, late of Invercargill, in the Colony
of New Zealand, Sheepfarmer, deceased, claiming
as Devisees under the Will of the said George
Webster, have applied to the District Land Registrar
of the District of Southland to be registered as pro-
prietors of deceased's interest in Sections numbered
respectively 61, 62, and 63, Eyre District; and that
the said Michael Elliot, Frederick James Hickling,
and Emily Webster will be so registered unless
caveat forbidding the same be lodged here within one
calendar month from the date of gazetting this notice.

CANTERBURY SPINNING, WEAVING, AND FIBRE
COMPANY (LIMITED).
A SPECIAL General Meeting of the Shareholders
of the above Company will be held at the rooms
of Mr. Charles Clark, Hereford Street, Christchurch,
on Tuesday, the 13th November, at 2.30 p.m.,--
To confirm the following Resolution passed at a
Special Meeting of Shareholders held on the 7th
August ultimo, namely,-
"That the Canterbury Spinning, Weaving, and
Fibre Company (Limited) be wound up volun-
tarily."
To appoint a Liquidator.
Shareholders are reminded that their attendance is
necessary, either in person or by proxy, to enable the
Directors to comply with the requirements of the
Act, that they may distribute assets. Proxies must
be left at the office not later than 1 p.m. on Saturday,
the 3rd November.
At the termination of the above Meeting, a Second
Meeting of Shareholders will be held at the same
place, for the purpose of considering the Liquidator's
accounts, and, consequent upon the approval thereof,
to pass the following Resolution :--
"That this Meeting is of opinion that the affairs
of the Canterbury Spinning, Weaving, and Fibre
Company (Limited) have been fairly wound up."

ROAD TO BE TAKEN.
NOTICE is hereby given, that the Patea West
Road Board propose, under "The Public Works
Act, 1876," to take a road from the acreage of Section
No. 59, Patea District (occupied by Mr. James Fair-
weather).
The plan of the proposed road is now open for
inspection at the Board's Office, Carlyle. Any person
affected by the proposed road, and who objects to the
same, must lodge any objection in writing within
forty days from this date with me.

the Registrar of Births and Deaths, Picton; and that
I intend to apply to have my name placed on the
Register of Medical Practitioners in the Colony of
New Zealand, on the 20th day of September, 1877.

cine and Master of Surgery of the University of
Edinburgh, and Member of the Royal College of
Surgeons, England, now residing in Dunedin, do
hereby give notice that I intend to apply, on the 20th
September next, to have my name placed on the
register of Medical Practitioners in the Colony of
New Zealand; and that I have this day deposited
with the Registrar in Dunedin the evidence of my
qualifications, in terms of "The Medical Practitioners
Registration Act, 1869."
