Cardrona Depasturing District.โAdditional
Regulations.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by a Proclamation made and issued
under the authority of the fourteenth section
of "The Gold Fields Act, 1866," bearing date the
twelfth day of March last past, and published in the
New Zealand Gazette of the fifteenth day of March
aforesaid, a certain district within the Provincial
District of Otago was constituted a depasturing
district, and certain Regulations for the depasturing
of stock made on the twenty-third day of June, one
thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight, and on the
sixth day of October, one thousand eight hundred
and sixty-eight, and published in the Otago Govern-
ment Gazette, Nos. 553 and 572 respectively, were
also declared by the same instrument to be the
Depasturing Regulations for the said district:
And whereas by another Proclamation made and
issued under the same authority, bearing date the
twenty-ninth day of March aforesaid, and published
in the New Zealand Gazette of the fifth day of April
last past, additional Depasturing Regulations were
made and issued:
And whereas it is expedient to make other Regula-
tions in addition to the Regulations heretofore made
and published as aforesaid:
Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, do hereby, in pursuance and exercise
of the power and authority enabling me in this be-
half, proclaim and declare that, from and after the
day of the date hereof, the following Regulations shall
take effect within the said depasturing district in
addition to the Regulations for the same heretofore
made and published as aforesaid.
ADDITIONAL DEPASTURING REGULATIONS.

No sheep shall be depastured within the dis-
trict. -
No bull over the age of six months, or entire
horse over the age of twelve months, shall be depas-
tured within the district without the consent in
writing of a majority of the Wardens for that pur-
pose first had and obtained. -
It shall not be lawful to drive or disturb cattle
lawfully depasturing within the district, unless for
the purpose of collecting cattle belonging to the
person or persons so driving or disturbing the said
cattle; and in such case the said cattle shall be
driven to the nearest stockyard, where the said person
or persons so driving as aforesaid shall separate his
or their cattle from the other cattle, and drive the
latter back to the place from whence they were
taken. -
No person or persons shall remove, or attempt
to remove, any cattle from the district unless twenty-
four hours' previous notice in writing of his or their
intention so to do shall be given to the Board of
Wardens for the said district. -
Should the district at any time be overstocked,
it shall be lawful for the Board of Wardens to regu-
late the amount of stock by reducing the number
depastured by the largest owners thereon.

and Vice-Admiral of the same; and
issued under the Seal of the said Colony,
at the Government House, at Wellington,
this twenty-second day of August, in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-seven.

Appointing a Day for Election of Members for the
Corstorphine Subdivision of the Kaikorai Road Board.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section ten of "The Otago Roads
Ordinance 1871 Amendment Ordinance,
1874," it is enacted that, if from any cause whatever,
the persons entitled to vote at any election for any
subdivision of any district shall fail or neglect to
hold an election of members of the District Board of
such district on the day appointed by the said Ordi-
nance for that purpose, it shall be lawful for the
Superintendent, by Proclamation in the Gazette, to
appoint a day for the holding of such election,
and an election may be held upon the day
so appointed, and the election so held shall
for all purposes whatsoever be deemed to have
been duly held on the day appointed by the
said Ordinance for holding the same : And whereas
the powers and authorities vested in the Superinten-
dent by the said section are by "The Abolition of
Provinces Act, 1875," now vested in the Governor:
And whereas the persons entitled to vote in the
election of members for the Corstorphine Subdivision
of the Kaikorai Road District failed on the day
appointed by "The Otago Roads Ordinance, 1871,"
to hold an election:
Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constan-
tine, Marquis of Normanby, Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and
exercise of the powers and authorities vested in
me by the said Ordinance and Act, do hereby
proclaim and appoint that an election shall be held
on the fourth day of October, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-seven, at noon, at the School-
house, Green Island, of three members of the Kai-
korai Road Board for the Corstorphine Subdivision
of the said Kaikorai Road District; and I
appoint the aforesaid Schoolhouse, Green Island, to
be the place of polling at such elections.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
