GOD SAVE THE QUEEN!

Season for coursing Hares within the Provincial Dis-
trict of Canterbury extended.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by a Proclamation made by the
Governor of New Zealand, dated the twenty-
first day of June, one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-seven, and published in the New Zealand
Gazette, No. 55, of the twenty-first day of June
ultimo, it was declared that "hares shall be open to
be coursed within the Provincial District of Canter-
bury between the second day of July, one thousand
eight hundred and seventy-seven, and the fourteenth
day of July in the same year, both inclusive, but only
between the hours of sunrise and sunset:" And
whereas it is expedient to extend the time for the
coursing of hares in the aforesaid provincial dis-
trict:

Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of all
powers enabling me in this behalf, do hereby pro-
claim and declare that the season within which
hares shall be open to be coursed within the Pro-
vincial District of Canterbury shall be extended
from the sixteenth day of July to the thirty-first day
of July, both inclusive, but that such coursing shall
only take place between the hours of sunrise and
sunset.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Most Honorable George Augustus Con-
stantine, Marquis of Normanby, Earl
of Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and
Baron Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the
County of York, in the Peerage of the
United Kingdom; and Baron Mulgrave
of New Ross, in the County of Wexford,
in the Peerage of Ireland; a Member of
Her Majesty's Most Honorable Privy
Council; Knight Commander of the Most
Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George; Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and
Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued
under the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
twelfth day of July, in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-seven.

to the Corporation of the Borough of New Plymouth.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
tenth day of July, 1877.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and au-
thority vested in him by the three hundred and
fiftieth section of "The Municipal Corporations Act,
1876," and upon the request of the Corporation of
the Borough of New Plymouth, His Excellency the
Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the Colony of New Zealand,
doth hereby order that the land described in the
Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby
reserved out of the waste lands of the Provincial
District of Taranaki for the purpose of granting the
same to the Corporation of the Borough of New
Plymouth.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Taranaki, containing by admeasurement two thousand
(2,000), acres more or less, being part of Block three
(III.), Ngaire Survey District. Bounded towards
the East from a point on the Patea River where
eastern boundary of Ahuroa-Manawawiri Block
strikes the said river by a line running due north
to the boundary of said Block; towards the South
by the Patea River; towards the West by a line
running due North from Kopuatamea on the Patea
River in length about one (1) mile; towards the
North by a line running due east from termination
of the western boundary to the eastern boundary
of the Ahuroa-Manawawiri Block aforesaid; reserv-
ing out of the aforementioned area a right to take
such roads as may be necessary.

Time for making Valuation Rolls for the Ridings of
Paparoa and Wairoa extended.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
tenth day of July, 1877.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by "The Rating Act, 1876," it is
ordered that, if the local body or the Assess-
ment Court fails through misadventure or accident to
do anything which by this Act is required to be done
within a fixed time, the Governor may, by an Order
in Council published in the Government Gazette and
publicly notified, extend the time for doing such
thing; and may by any such Order validate anything
which may have been irregularly done in matter
of form, so that the intent and purpose of this Act
may have effect:

And whereas the local body of the respective
ridings in the Hobson County known as Paparoa and
Wairoa Ridings accidentally made no valuation lists
as required by the said Act, and the Judge of the
Assessment Court for the district, in exercise of the
powers vested in him by the said Act, appointed
valuers for such ridings: And whereas it is
necessary to extend the time for the making of the
valuation rolls for the said ridings:

Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of
the Executive Council of the said colony, do hereby
extend the time for making the valuation rolls for
the said two ridings from the twentieth day of June,
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-seven, until
the tenth day of August, one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-seven.
