the said Act provided, to be sold and dealt with
according to the provisions of the laws regulating
the sale and disposal of waste lands of the Crown
for the time being in force in the land district in
which such land is situated; and thereupon such land
so proclaimed shall become subject to such provi-
sions :

And whereas the land described in the Schedule
hereto has been purchased out of the sums authorized
under "The Immigration and Public Works Act,
1870," and Acts amending the same, and it is ex-
pedient that the said land should be declared to be
waste lands of the Crown:

Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, being satisfied that the lands de-
scribed in the Schedule hereto are free from Native
claims, and all difficulties in connection therewith, in
pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
vested in me by "The Waste Lands Administration
Act, 1876," do hereby proclaim and declare the said
lands to be waste lands of the Crown, subject to be
sold and dealt with according to the provisions of
the laws regulating the sale and disposal of waste
lands of the Crown in force in the Land District of
Wellington.

ΡΙΚΟΡΙΚΟ No 1.

All that parcel of land at Mangawhero, in the Dis-
trict of Whanganui, in the Provincial District of
Wellington, known by the name of Pikopiko No. 1,
containing by admeasurement three thousand six
hundred (3,600) acres, or thereabouts. Bounded
towards the East by Te Maire Block five thousand
one hundred and ninety-four (5194) links, three
thousand one hundred and twenty (3120) links, three
thousand six hundred and one (3601) links, one
thousand nine hundred and eighty (1980) links, nine
hundred and seventy-nine (979) links, six hundred
and four (604) links, two hundred and ninety-eight
(298) links, and five hundred and seventy-nine (579)
links, and by the Kaikai Block three thousand four

hundred and ninety-four (3194) links; towards the
South-east by the Makirikiri No. 2 Block one hun-

ton, known by the name of Paratieke, containing by
admeasurement six thousand and six (6,006) acres, or
thereabouts. Bounded towards the North-west by
the Pukewakapu Block two thousand seven hundred
and fifty-five (2755) links, six thousand nine hundred
and seventy-three (6973) links, four thousand four
hundred and eight (4408) links, and ten thousand
three hundred and fifty-one (10351) links; towards
the East by the Heao Block nine hundred and thirty-
