PATENT FOR A TRACTION WHEEL AND RAIL FOR, "456" on the plan of the said city. Bounded-
STEEP INCLINES.
THIS is to notify, that JOHN LEANING, of Motueka,
in the Provincial District of Nelson, Painter,
did, on the twenty-sixth day of March instant, deposit
at the office of the Patent Officer, in the Colonial
Secretary's Office, in Wellington, a specification or
instrument in writing under his hand and seal, par-
ticularly describing and ascertaining the nature of
the said Invention, and in what manner the same is
to be performed; and that, by reason of such deposit,
the said Invention is protected and secured to him
exclusively for the term of six calendar months thence
next ensuing.

And I do further notify, that the said John Lean-
ing has given notice in writing, at my office, of his
intention to proceed with his application for Letters
Patent for the said Invention, and that I have ap-
pointed Friday, the twenty-fourth day of August
next, at eleven o'clock in the forenoon, at my office,
to hear and consider the said application and all
objections thereto; and I do hereby require all per-
sons having an interest in opposing the grant of such
Letters Patent to leave, on or before the twentieth
day of August next, at my office in Wellington, par-
ticulars in writing of their objections to the said
application, otherwise they will be precluded from
urging the same.

Given under my hand this twenty-sixth day of
March, 1877.

LAND TRANSFER ACT NOTICES.

NOTICE is hereby given, that the several parcels of
land hereinafter described will be brought under
the provisions of "The Land Transfer Act, 1870,"
unless caveat be lodged forbidding the same
within one calendar month from the date of publica-
tion of this notice in the Gazette.

HERBERT EVELYN CURTIS and OSWALD
CURTIS, of the City of Nelson, Merchants, Appli-
cants.-25 acres, being Subdivision "10" of Sections
"131 and 132" on the plan of the District of Takaka.
Bounded-Northward and Westward by the River
Anatoke; Eastward (2300 links) by Subdivision 11;
Southward (2900 links) by the Takaka and Colling-
wood Bridle-track. Also, 18 acres, being Subdivision
"14" of same sections. Bounded-Northward (1000
links) by Subdivision 15; Westward (1,800) links by
Subdivision 12; Eastward (1800 links) by a public
road; Southward (1000 links) by the Takaka and

CHARLES BARTLETT, of the City of Nelson,
Gentleman, Applicant.-3 roods 25 perches, being
part of Section "89" on the plan of the said city.
Bounded-North (132 feet) by other land belonging
to the said Charles Bartlett; South (74 feet) by
Washington Road, and partly (58 feet) by other
part of same section; East (260 feet) by Section 88
on said plan; West (330 feet) by Section 90 on said
plan. Also, 3 acres 2 roods 16 perches, situated
within the City of Nelson (being part of an allotment
of 9 acres 2 roods formerly granted to Alexander
Morrison and David Sclanders, of Nelson, Mer-
chants). Bounded-North (270 feet) by Stanley
Crescent; South (400 links) by Sections 89 and 90 on
the said plan; East by other part of same allotment
belonging to William Million; West (1000 links) by

JOHN GRAHAM, of the City of Nelson, Tin-
smith, Applicant.--20 perches, being part of Section
Northward (56 feet) by Nile Street West; Eastward
(95 feet) by Section 454 on said plan; Southward (56
feet) by other part of same Section "456"; West-
ward (95 feet) by a private road of 20 feet wide
with a right-of-way over the same.

WILLIAM HADDOW, of the City of Nelson,
Corn Dealer, Applicant.-15 perches, being part of
Section "89" on the plan of the said city, having a
frontage of 58 feet to Washington Road by a depth
backward at right angles to the front of 70 feet.
