At the Government House, at Wellington, this
nineteenth day of June, 1877.
Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by "The Gold Fields Act, 1866," it
is, among other things, enacted that it shall
be lawful for the Governor in Council from time to
time to constitute for any gold field, or for any part
thereof, Wardens' Courts for the administration of
justice therein, and to appoint Wardens of such
Courts, with power to act alone or with Assessors,
and in such manner, and to exercise all or any of the
powers thereinafter mentioned, as the Governor
shall think fit:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of
New Zealand, with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the Colony, doth hereby, in
pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
vested in him for this purpose, appoint

JAMES PILLANS MAITLAND,
of Dunedin, Esquire, to be a Warden of all Wardens'
Courts now constituted or hereafter to be constituted
within the Hindon District of the Otago Gold
Fields; with power to him to act alone or with
Assessors, and to exercise all or any of the powers
vested in or imposed on Judges of Wardens' Courts.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
nineteenth day of June, 1877.
Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and au-
thority vested in him by the three hundred and
fiftieth section of "The Municipal Corporations Act,
1876," and upon the request of the Borough of
Kaiapoi, His Excellency the Governor, by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of
the Colony of New Zealand, doth hereby order that
the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be
and the same is hereby reserved out of the waste
lands of the Provincial District of Canterbury for
the purpose of granting the same to the Corporation
of the Borough of Kaiapoi.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Provincial District of Canter-
bury, containing by admeasurement two thousand
(2,000) acres, more or less, being Sections numbered
two thousand one hundred and eighty-four (2184)
(in red), two thousand one hundred and eighty-five
(2185) (in red), two thousand one hundred and
eighty-six (2186) (in red), and two thousand one
hundred and eighty-seven (2187) (in red). Bounded
towards the North by Sections numbered twenty-
seven thousand three hundred and ninety-three
(27393) and twenty-seven thousand three hundred
and ninety-four (27394); towards the East by Sec-
tions numbered twenty-seven thousand four hundred
and ninety-four (27494), and twenty-seven thousand
three hundred and thirty-five (27335), and a road
line; towards the South by Crown lands; and to-
wards the West by road lines and Crown lands, save
and excepting Section numbered one thousand three
hundred and ninety-nine (1399), situate in Section
numbered two thousand one hundred and eighty-five
(2185), as the same is delineated on the plans de-
posited in the Provincial District Survey Office,
Christchurch.

Valuation Roll as prepared by the Ponsonby and
Dedwood Highway District Assessment Court to be
valid.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
nineteenth day of June, 1877.
Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the valuer for the Ponsonby and or
Dedwood Highway District, in the County of
Eden, omitted, when transmitting the valuation list,
to sign and declare the same, as provided by "The
Rating Act, 1876," and the Highway Board of the
said district did not, for five days after the receipt
thereof, deposit such valuation list for inspection, as
provided by the said Act, and neither the clerk nor any
other person duly appointed by and on behalf of the
said Board attended the sittings of the Assessment
Court at which the said valuation list was revised:

And whereas, notwithstanding such irregularities,
it is expedient to validate the valuation roll so made
and revised by the Assessment Court:

Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, in exercise of the powers vested in me
by "The Rating Act, 1876," and by and with the
consent of the Executive Council of the said Colony,
do hereby declare that, notwithstanding the said
irregularities, the valuation roll so prepared and
revised by the Assessment Court shall be and be
deemed to have been from the making and revision
thereof valid to all intents and purposes as the same
would have been if no such irregularities had taken
place.

Amendment Act, 1868," to the Hon. Frederick
Whitaker.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this
twenty-first day of June, 1877.
Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in
me by "The Gold Fields Act Amendment Act,
1868," and by every other power and authority in
that behalf me thereunto enabling, I, George
Augustus Constantine, Marquis of Normanby, Go-
vernor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of
the said colony, do hereby revoke the delegation
made in favour of the Hon. Frederick Whitaker
of certain powers vested in the Governor by the said
Act, and which delegation was made by Order in
Council on the twelfth of December, one thousand
eight hundred and seventy-six, and is published in
