THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.
Ruapekapeka Block; thence by the eastern boundary
of the Ruapekapeka Block and by the Waiotu River
to the south-west angle of the Puhipuhi Block;
thence by a direct line to the north-west boundary
of Opuawhanga No. 4 Block; and thence by the
northern boundary of that block to the sea at Helena
Bay; and by the sea to the starting point, including
the islands adjacent.
KAWAKAWA.
Bounded on the East by the western boundary of
Baker's grant, by a line from the south-west angle
of Baker's grant to the north boundary of the Rua-
pekapeka Block, by the eastern boundary of the Rua-
pekapeka Block and by the Waiotu River to where
it crosses a straight line from Trigonometrical Station
18 to the north-west boundary of Opuawhanga No.
4 Block; towards the South-east by the said line to
the south-west angle of the Hukerenui Block;
thence towards the West by a line to Trigonometrical
Station "G1;" thence by a line from Trigonometrical
station "Gl" to the south-west angle of the Kawakawa
Block, and by the western and northern boundaries
of the Kawakawa Block, to the Kawakawa River;
and on the North by the Kawakawa and Waikare
Rivers, to the starting point.
HOKIANGA.
Bounded on the North by the Mongonui District,
and on the East by the Bay of Islands District,
hereinbefore described; on the South and South-
east by a straight line from the south-western corner
of the Bay of Islands District to Trigonometrical
Station 43; thence by a straight line to the Trigono-
metrical Station on Maunganui Bluff; and on the
West by the sea.
WHANGAREI.
Bounded on the North by the Bay of Islands and
Kawakawa Districts; towards the East by the sea from
Helena Bay to the Pataua River; towards the South-
east by the Pataua River and a straight line in a
southerly direction to the southern boundary of the
Tamatarau Block, and thence by the southern bound-
ary of the Tamatarau Block to the Whangarei
Harbour, thence by the Whangarei Harbour to the
south-eastern boundary of the Maungatapere Block,
thence by the southern boundary of the Maunga-
tapere Block last named to the Waionepu River;
and thence in a straight line to the confluence of the
Wairau and Mangakahia Rivers; towards the South-
west by a straight line from the confluence of the
rivers last named in a north-westerly direction to
the south-west corner of the Bay of Islands District.
TOKATOKA.
Bounded towards the North and North-west by a
straight line from trigonometrical station on Mau-
nganui Bluff to Trigonometrical Station 43, and
thence by a straight line towards Trigonometrical
Station 18; towards the North-east by the Whangarei
District to the south-west corner of Maungatapere
Block; towards the East by the western boundary
of the Maungakaramea Block to the Tauraroa River;
thence South-westerly by the Tauraroa River to its
confluence with the Manganui River at the north-
eastern boundary of the Okahu Block, thence by the
north-eastern boundaries of the Okahu and Omaru
Blocks to the Matakohe Block; towards the South-
east by the north-western boundary of the Matakohe
Block and the Awaroa Creek, and by the said creek
to the Wairoa River, thence by the Wairoa River
aforesaid and Kaipara Entrance to the North Head of
Kaipara Harbour; and towards the South-west by the
sea from the North Head of Kaipara Harbour to the
Maunganui Bluff, the place of commencement.
And I hereby declare that this Proclamation shall
come into operation and take effect on the first day of
August, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
seven.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Most Honorable George Augustus Con-
stantine, Marquis of Normanby, Earl
of Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and
Baron Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the
County of York, in the Peerage of the
United Kingdom; and Baron Mulgrave
of New Ross, in the County of Wexford,
in the Peerage of Ireland; a Member of
Her Majesty's Most Honorable Privy
Council; Knight Commander of the Most
Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George; Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued
under the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
fifteenth day of June, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-seven.

NORMANDY, Governor.
A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in
me by "The Registration of Births and Deaths
Act, 1875," I, George Augustus Constantine, Mar-
quis of Normanby, the Governor of New Zealand,
do hereby proclaim and declare that the boundaries
of the Mongonui District, the Bay of Islands Dis-
trict, the Hokianga District, the Wangarei District,
and the Tokatoka District as now constituted under
"The Registration of Births and Deaths Act, 1875,"
shall be and the same are hereby altered; and do
hereby proclaim and declare that the territory
therein comprised shall be divided anew into six
districts, the names whereof shall be the Mongonui
District, the Bay of Islands District, the Kawakawa
District, the Hokianga District, the Whangarei Dis-
trict, and the Tokatoka District; and that the bound-
aries of the said districts shall be coterminous with
the boundaries of districts bearing the same names,
as are set forth in a Proclamation of even date
herewith made under the provisions of "The Mar-
riage Act Amendment Act, 1858:" And I hereby
declare that this Proclamation shall come into opera-
tion and take effect on the first day of August, one
thousand eight hundred and seventy-seven.
