behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the
parcel of land described in the Schedule hereto an-
nexed is provisionally reserved and set apart for the
educational purpose in the said Schedule particu-
larly described, subject to the terms and conditions
of the aforesaid twelfth section of the above-named
Act.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District
of Canterbury, containing by admeasurement thirty
(30) acres, more or less, being Section No. 2182 (in
red), situate in the Timaru District. Bounded on
the Southward by Reserves Nos. 136-7 and 2126 (in
red); on the Eastward by Reserve 1787 (in red), and
also by road forming the eastern boundary thereof;
on the Northward by the latter reserve; on the
South-westward by road forming the southwest boun-
dary of Section No. 19331; and on the North-west-
ward by a line at right angles to south-west boundary
drawn so as to meet the north-west corner of the
before mentioned Reserve No. 1787 (in red). For
school purposes.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Most Honorable George Augustus Con-
stantine, Marquis of Normanby, Earl of
Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and Baron
Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the County
of York, in the Peerage of the United
Kingdom; and Baron Mulgrave of New
Ross, in the County of Wexford, in the
Peerage of Ireland; a Member of Her
Majesty's Most Honorable Privy Coun-
cil; Knight Commander of the Most
Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George; Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued
under the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
fourteenth day of June, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-seven.

Proclaiming certain Lands to be Waste Lands of the

NORMANBY, Governor.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by "The Waste Lands Administration
Act, 1876," it is, among other things, enacted
that the Governor may from time to time, by Procla-
mation in the New Zealand Gazette, proclaim the
confiscated lands within any land district to be waste
lands of the Crown:

Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
power and authority vested in me by the said Act,
do hereby proclaim that the confiscated lands in the
Land District of Auckland, which are particularly
described in the Schedule hereto, shall be and the
same are hereby declared to be waste lands of the
Crown.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Auckland being called or known by the name of the
Patutahi Block. Bounded on the North-east by the
Waipaoa River from the junction of the Whakaahu
Stream with the Waipaoa River to a point called
Kaiakokako; thence on the North-east by the
Whenuakura Block 625 links, 4168 links, 4130 links,
6220 links, thence by the Ahipakura and Ponuriuri
Blocks 1420 links, 2796 links; thence on the South-
east by the Pipiwakau and Kowhatatuna Blocks
4976 links, 7192 links; thence on the South by the
Rakaukaka Block 16729 links; on the East by the
Patutahi Stream; thence on the North-east, East,
and North by the Rakaukaka, Papatu, and Te Pa
Okare Blocks 2901 links, 3002 links, 1514 links,
3099 links, 2360 links, 4499 links, 2935 links, 6590
links, 6118 links, 4001 links, 4347 links, 1373 links,
863 links, 2799 links, 5910 links, 7143 links; thence
on the North-west by Te Arai Stream; thence on
the East and North-east by Te Arai No. 2 Block
1080 links, 4700 links, 4145 links, 6959 links; thence
on the East by Te Arai Stream; thence on the South
by Native land from Mangatitaha to Whakaongaonga
7170 links, 27415 links, also on the South by the
Whakaongaonga Block to Parikanapa 15184 links, to
the Hangaroa River 41975 links; thence towards the
West by the Hangaroa River to the Hangaroa-Mata-
wai Block; thence towards the West and North-west
by the Hangaroa-Matawai and Okahuatui No. 2
Blocks 20657 links, 9221 links, 31766 links, 2279
links; thence on the West and North by the Korora,
the Mangatoitoi, the Waikakariki, and Waikaahu
Streams to the starting point at the junction of the
Waikaahu with the Waipaoa River.

Excepting out of the hereinbefore described area
the Waimata Block, containing four thousand two
hundred and fourteen (4214) acres, more or less;
the Tapoto Block, containing four hundred (400)
acres, more or less; Section sixty-five (65), Patutahi
Township Block, containing ninety-two acres two
roods and thirty-two poles (92a. 2r. 32p.), more or
less; Section sixty-four (64), Patutahi Township
Block, containing fifty acres three roods and four
poles (50a. 3r. 4p.), more or less; section known as
Cemetery Reserve, and Sections forty-six (46) and
forty-seven (47) adjoining thereto, containing in the
whole twenty-three acres and twenty-five poles
(23a. 0. 25p.), more or less, as the same is delineated
on the plan deposited in the District Survey Office,
Auckland.
