Notice of Petition for Kauaeranga Highway District
to be incorporated with Borough of Thames.

Colonial Secretary's Office,
Wellington, 26th April, 1877.

HIS Excellency the Governor directs it to be
notified, that unless within two months after
the publication of this notice a petition is pre-
sented to His Excellency the Governor, signed
by not less than one-third of the burgesses of the
Borough of the Thames, or a petition signed by
not less than one-third of the resident householders
of the Kauaeranga Highway District, praying that
such district may not be incorporated into such
borough, His Excellency will, by Proclamation,
incorporate into the said borough the said district.

NOTICE has been received at this office under the
hand of the presiding officer, that at a first
meeting of the ratepayers of the Danevirk Highway
District, in the Provincial District of Hawke's Bay,
held on the 24th March, 1877, the following persons
were elected a Chairman and Board of Wardens for
the said district pursuant to the Act of the Provincial
Council of Hawke's Bay intituled "The Highway
Act, 1871":-

Regulation and Inspection Act, 1873," the names

for the railways mentioned in the second column of
the said Schedule, and set opposite each name.

the Cattle Inspector for the Nelson South Dis-
trict, are published for general information.

Waiau, 9th April, 1877.

SIR,-In compliance with your Circular letter
No. 12, of 1st May, 1876, I have the honor to report
that since the date of my last report, dated 9th Octo-
ber, 1876, no information of the supposed existence
of disease within the boundaries of the Nelson South
District has been received at this office.

I have also the honor to forward a Nil Return of
the Inspection of Cattle for the six months ending
31st March last.

RETURN of CATTLE inspected within the D:STRICT
of NELSON SOUTH, not brought by Sea, within the

Infectious Disease.
