virtue of "The Abolition of Provinces Act, 1875,"
the powers by the said Ordinance vested in the
Superintendent are now vested in and are to be
exercised and performed by the Governor:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of
New Zealand, with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the colony, in exercise of the
powers vested in him, doth hereby declare that a
rate of seven shillings and sixpence, to be paid for
every five hundred sheep, is struck for the said pur-
pose, and doth hereby authorize

Extension of Time for preparation of Rolls, County
of Westland.

NORMANBY, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
eighteenth day of April, 1877.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS it is expedient to extend the times
allowed by the forty-second, forty-third, forty-
forth, forty-fifth, and forty-sixth sections of "The
Counties Act, 1876," for the doing of the acts,
matters, and things required by the said sections for
the preparation of rolls for the ridings of the County
of Westland:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the Colony of New Zealand, and in pur-
suance of the power and authority vested in him by
the two hundred and eleventh section of "The Coun-
ties Act, 1876," and of every other power and autho-
rity him enabling thereunto, doth hereby extend the
time for preparing the roll of each riding in the
said County of Westland, in accordance with the
forty-second section of the said Act, to the twenty-
ninth day of May, one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-seven; and doth hereby extend the
time for the preparation and sending to the Clerk
of the list in the forty-third section of the said
Act mentioned to the fifteenth day of May, one
thousand eight hundred and seventy-seven; and
doth hereby extend the time for the preparation and
sending to the Clerk of the list in the forty-fourth
section of the said Act mentioned to the fifteenth
day of May, one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-seven; and doth hereby declare that the
time during which the copies of the rolls shall be
kept open for public inspection, as mentioned in the
forty-sixth section of the said Act, shall be extended
so that such rolls shall be open for public inspection
at all reasonable hours from the fourth day of June,
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-seven, to the
thirtieth day of June, one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-seven.

District of Ashburton to be an Agricultural District.

NORMANBY, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
eighteenth day of April, 1877.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and
authority vested in him by the twenty-seventh
section of "The Abolition of Provinces Act, 1875,"
His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New
Zealand, by and with the advice of the Executive
Council thereof, doth hereby give his consent to the
attached Proclamation declaring a portion of the
Ashburton Road District to be an Agricultural Dis-
trict within the meaning of "The Canterbury Tres-
pass of Cattle Ordinance, 1872."

PROCLAMATION.

IN exercise of the power conferred upon me by "The
Canterbury Trespass of Cattle Ordinance, 1872," and
of every other power and authority enabling me in
that behalf, I, William Rolleston, do hereby proclaim
and declare that that portion of the Ashburton Road
District commencing at the northern corner of Rural
Section 17076 and extending along the south-western
boundaries of Sections 17076, 20426, 17074, 17879,
17073, 17878, 12145, 7752, 18009 to southern corner
of Reserve 931; thence along the road through Re-
serve 738 and Sections 6802 and 6801; thence past
the south-west boundaries of Sections 6800 and 6807
to the junction with the road passing through Section
6798; thence along the eastern side of the road
forming the western boundaries of Sections 17324,
1441, 20296, 1250, to the westernmost corner of
Section 18895; thence past the south-western
boundaries of Sections 18895 and 20301 in a right
line to the sea; thence along the sea coast to the
centre of the Ashburton River at its mouth; thence
up the middle of the Ashburton River to its inter-
section with the southern line of railway; thence
along the south-eastern boundary of the Railway
Reserve to the starting point, shall, from and after
the publication of this Proclamation in the New
Zealand Government Gazette, be deemed to be and be
an agricultural district within the meaning of "The
Canterbury Trespass of Cattle Ordinance, 1872."

Given under my hand, at Christchurch, this
eleventh day of April, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-seven.

Altering Times of Meetings of the Waste Lands Board
of the Land District of Wellington.

NORMANBY, Governor.

WHEREAS by the first subsection of section
twenty-six of "The Waste Lands Adminis-
tration Act, 1876," it is provided that the Waste
Lands Boards of the respective Land Districts shall sit
at the Land Office in the principal town of the land
district, at certain times to be determined by the
Board and approved of by the Governor, and pub-
lished in the New Zealand Gazette: And whereas
the Waste Lands Board of the Land District of
Wellington have determined to hold its sittings
on every alternate Thursday, at 12 o'clock noon,
instead of every alternate Tuesday as heretofore
fixed, and have requested His Excellency the Gover-
nor to approve of such alteration:

Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in exercise of the power and authority
vested in me in that behalf by "The Waste Lands
Administration Act, 1876," do hereby approve of the
ordinary meetings of the Waste Lands Board of the
Land District of Wellington being held at the prin-
cipal Land Office, at the City of Wellington, on every
alternate Thursday in each week, at 12 o'clock noon,
instead of every alternate Tuesday as heretofore.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this seventeenth day of April,
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
seven.
