And whereas by an Order in Council dated the
fifteenth day of December, one thousand eight hun-
dred and seventy-six, His Excellency the Governor,
by and with the advice and consent of his Executive
Council, ordered and directed that, from and after the
fifteenth day of April then next, the introduction into
New Zealand of cattle, sheep, or swine from any
country or place in the Continent of Europe, in-
cluding Great Britain and Ireland, should be abso-
lutely prohibited and forbidden, and did also declare
that the said Order in Council should remain in force
until the expiration of two years from the said
fifteenth day of April, unless the said order should in
the meantime be revoked: And whereas it appears
to the satisfaction of the Governor in Council that
disease exists, or is supposed to exist, amongst cattle,
sheep, and swine in countries, colonies, and places
beyond the limits of the Australasian Colonies, and it
is expedient to prohibit the introduction into New
Zealand of such animals as hereinafter mentioned:
Now, therefore, His Excellency, George Augustus
Constantine, Marquis of Normanby, Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and in exercise
of the power and authority vested in him by the here-
inbefore in part recited Act, and all other powers and
authorities enabling him in that behalf, and by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
thereof, doth hereby order and direct that from and
after the fifteenth day of April next the introduction
into New Zealand of cattle, sheep, and swine from any
country, colony, or place beyond the limits of the
Australasian Colonies shall be, and the same is hereby
absolutely prohibited and forbidden; and in further
pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him
by the hereinbefore recited Act, and of all other
powers and authorities moving him in that behalf,
and with the like advice and consent of the Executive
Council, doth hereby prescribe and declare that this
Order in Council shall remain in force until the
expiration of two years from the fifteenth day of
April next, unless in the meantime revoked.

Cemetery Reserve at Goldsborough vested in Trustees.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-seventh day of March, 1877.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by "The Westland Waste Lands
Act, 1870," it is, among other things, enacted,
that reserves theretofore or thereafter to be made
of waste lands should be managed and administered
by the Governor in Council; and it is also enacted
that the Governor in Council may from time to time,
by Order in Council, direct that any such reserves as
aforesaid shall vest in and be held by any Corpora-
tion, Commissioners, or other person or persons to
be named in the order, in trust for the like or other
public purposes to be specified and declared in such
order:
And whereas one parcel of land described in the
Schedule hereto, was, on the second day of May, one
thousand eight hundred and seventy-six, declared
to be a reserve for the purposes therein set forth,
and such reserve is now subject to the provisions
of the said Act: And whereas it is expedient
that such reserve should be vested in the persons
hereinafter named, in trust for the purposes of a
cemetery:
Now, therefore, His Excellency, George Augustus
Constantine, Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exer-
cise of the power and authority vested in him by the
hereinbefore in part recited Act, and by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said colony, doth hereby direct and declare that the
lands in the Provincial District of Westland the
boundaries whereof are described in the Schedule
hereunto annexed shall be vested in William
McKay Thompson, Patrick Toker, John McWhirter,
and Martin Walsh, as trustees of the said lands and
hereditaments; and the said lands are hereby vested
accordingly in the hereinabove named persons in
trust as a reserve for Cemetery purposes.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Westland, being Section No. 137 (in red), situate
in the Arahura District, containing by admeasure-
ment three acres, more or less, the boundaries whereof
are as follows: Commencing at a point on the north-
western boundary of Section 1457, distant ninety-nine
links from the Goldsborough and Greenstone Road,
thence south-westerly along said boundary for three
chains eighty-three links, thence north-westerly at a
bearing of 328° 12′ (magnetic) for seven chains seventy
links, thence north-easterly at a bearing of 56° 04'
(magnetic) for three chains ninety-nine links to the
road aforesaid, thence south-easterly along said road,
and southerly along Horse Track to Big Dam to the
commencing point.

Authorizing the taking and laying down of a Road in
Heretaunga Block, Hawke's Bay.
NORMANBY, Governor.
WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly
intituled "The Native Land Act, 1873," it is
enacted, that from and out of any land which may
have heretofore been or may be granted under the
provisions of any of the Acts thereby repealed, or of
that Act, it shall be lawful for the Governor, at any
time thereafter, to take and lay off for public pur-
poses one or more line or lines of road or railway
through the said lands: Provided that the total
quantity of land which may be taken for such line or
lines of road shall not be more than after the rate of
five acres in every one hundred acres: Provided
always that this power shall cease and determine at
the expiration of ten years from the date of the
Crown grant:
And whereas it is expedient that a fit and proper
person should be authorized to take and lay down a
road on the land specified in the Crown grant men-
tioned in the Schedule hereto:
Now, therefore, I, the Marquis of Normanby,
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise
and pursuance of all powers and authorities enabling
me in this behalf, do hereby authorize Edward Henry
Bold, District Engineer, of Napier, to take and lay
down a road on the land specified in the Crown grant
mentioned in the Schedule, and for that purpose to
exercise all such powers as by the said Act may be
exercised by a person legally authorized in that be-
half under the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
HERETAUNGA BLOCK, No. 28N, containing 19,385
acres, more or less, situate at Heretaunga, in the
District of Ahuriri, in the Provincial District of
Hawke's Bay. Grant dated the 1st April, 1867.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this twenty-eighth day of
March, one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-seven.
