District, to a point on the south branch of the Wai-
kouaiti River, being a continuation of the southern
boundary line of Section 2 of 21, Block I., Wai-
kouaiti; thence towards the North and West by the
south branch of the Waikouaiti River to a point on
said river west of north-western corner of Section 1,
Block I., Waikouaiti Survey District; thence towards
the North by a line commencing at said point on the
south branch of said Waikouaiti River, and extend-
ing to the north-western corner of said Section 1,
Block I., Waikouaiti District; thence by said Sec-
tion 1, and Sections 2, 3, 4, 25, 33, and 83 of said
block and district, being the starting point.
MERTON SUBDIVISION.
Is bounded towards the North-west by the Main
North Road; towards the South-east by the Native
reserve; towards the North-east by other part of
said Native reserve; towards the East by the eastern
boundaries of Sections 15 and 16, Block III., Wai-
kouaiti Survey District; thence by a straight line
from the south-eastern corner of said Section 16 to
the north-western corner of Section 28 of said block;
thence again towards the East by the western boun-
dary of Section 28 of said block; thence again
towards the South by Sections 27, 26, 25, and 24,
Block III., and Sections 14, 13, 60, and 12, Block II.,
Waikouaiti Survey District, to Main North Road,
being the starting point.
CLEVEDON SUBDIVISION.
Is bounded towards the North-west by the Wai-
kouaiti River; towards the South-east by the Main
North Road; and towards the South by the northern
boundary of the Beaconsfield Subdivision of the
Waikouaiti Road District.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Most Honorable George Augustus Con-
stantine, Marquis of Normanby, Earl of
Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and Baron
Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the County
of York, in the Peerage of the United
Kingdom; and Baron Mulgrave of New
Ross, in the County of Wexford, in the
Peerage of Ireland; a Member of Her
Majesty's Most Honorable Privy Coun-
cil; Knight Commander of the Most
Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George; Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and
Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued
under the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
fourteenth day of December, in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-six.

Land withdrawn from the Nelson South-West Gold
Field.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by "The Gold Fields Act, 1866," it
is provided that it shall be lawful for the
Governor, at any time subsequent to the proclama-
tion of a gold field, to withdraw by Proclamation
therefrom any Crown lands which he may deem it
necessary to withdraw, and that such lands shall
thenceforth be dealt with, sold, occupied, and disposed
of under any law or laws for the time being in force
regulating the sale, occupation, or disposal, or in any
way affecting or relating to the management or
dealing with the Crown lands within the province in
which such gold field is situate, in like manner in
every respect as though such lands had never been
comprised in any proclaimed gold field:
Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
power and authority for this purpose vested in me,
do hereby withdraw from the Nelson South-West
Gold Field, proclaimed on the eighth day of June,
one thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight, so much
of the parcel of land described in the Schedule
hereto as is included within the said gold field.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Nelson, containing by admeasurement four (4) acres,
more or less, situated at the Long Ford, in the Upper
Buller District, and being section numbered ninety-
three (93) of square numbered one hundred and
seventy (170). Bounded towards the North by
Crown lands, 509 links; towards the East by Gibbs'
freehold, 800 links; towards the South by a road
reserved along the banks of the Buller River; and
towards the West by Crown lands, 800 links.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the

Appointing Date for Annual Meeting of Justices
in Port Albert Petty Sessions District.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by "The Petty Sessions Act, 1865,"
it is enacted that, as soon as conveniently may
be after the establishment of a Petty Sessions District,
and afterwards from time to time as may be deemed
expedient, the Governor shall, by Proclamation in the
New Zealand Gazette, appoint a meeting of the Justices
resident in such district to be yearly held within such
district, at some specified time and place, for the
purpose of choosing a Chairman of Petty Sessions
and settling a rota of attendance: And whereas, by
an Order in Council bearing date the twenty-seventh
day of April, one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-two, the Petty Sessions District named in
the Schedule hereto was, from and after the first day
of July, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
two, defined and established as in the said Order in
Council mentioned:
