Light Dues leviable under "The Marine Act, 1867."
NORMANBY, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
seventeenth day of October, 1876.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by "The Marine Act, 1867," it is,
among other things, enacted, that the Governor
may fix the various rates of lighthouse dues, not ex-
ceeding those specified in the said Act, which shall
be payable at any port or ports within the colony, in
respect of all vessels arriving at and of all vessels
leaving such ports, by the master of every such
vessel, and such dues from time to time to alter:
And whereas by Orders in Council dated respectively
the sixth day of October, one thousand eight hundred
and sixty-nine, and the twenty-third day of June, one
thousand eight hundred and seventy-one, certain
light dues were fixed for the ports mentioned in the
Schedules thereunto attached: And whereas it is
expedient to alter the rates of dues leviable at
certain ports, and to levy dues at certain other ports
at which no light dues are now leviable:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of New Zealand, and in exercise and pur-
suance of the above-recited power and authority,
doth order that, on and after the first day of Novem-
ber next, in lieu of the light dues leviable under the
said recited Orders in Council, there shall be leviable,
at each of the ports specified in the Schedule, the
light dues which are specified in the fourth column
of the said Schedule, and therein set opposite the
name of the port at which they shall be leviable;
and from and after the date aforesaid, the light dues
made leviable under and by virtue of the said recited
Orders in Council shall cease and determine:
And doth further order that light dues in respect
of a vessel bound from a port in New Zealand to a
port at which light dues are leviable, but at which
there is no officer of Customs employed in the
collection of the revenue, shall be paid at the port
of departure; and that any vessel from any place
out of New Zealand, calling at a port where light
