FIRST SCHEDULE.
PROVINCE OF AUCKLAND.

  1. Commencing at the north-western boundary
    of Native Reserve adjoining Lot 33, in the Parish of
    Papakura; terminating at the south-eastern boundary
    of Lot 41, in the Parish of Papakura.
  2. Commencing at the north-western boundary
    of Lot 76, in the Parish of Karaka; terminating at
    a point in Lot 79, in the Parish of Karaka.
  3. Commencing at the south-western boundary of
    Lot 10, in the Parish of Mangatawhiri; terminating at
    the north-eastern boundary of Lot 10, in the Parish
    of Mangatawhiri.

SECOND SCHEDULE.
Limits, Description, Line and Limits of Deviation of
portions of the Railway from Auckland to Mercer,
in the Province of Auckland.

  1. Commencing at the north-western boundary
    of Native Reserve adjoining Lot 33, in the Parish of
    Papakura; terminating at the south-eastern boundary
    of Lot 41, in the Parish of Papakura;
  2. Commencing at the north-western boundary of
    Lot 76, in the Parish of Karaka; terminating at a
    point in Lot 79, in the Parish of Karaka;
  3. Commencing at the south-western boundary of
    Lot 10, in the Parish of Mangatawhiri; terminating at
    the north-eastern boundary of Lot 10, in the Parish
    of Mangatawhiri;
    as the limits, description, and line thereof are set forth
    on the plan (marked P.W.D. 5227), and described
    in the book of reference referred to on the face of
    the said plan; and which plan and book are authen-
    ticated for the purposes of this Proclamation by the
    signature of the Honorable Edward Richardson,
    Minister for Public Works, to be deposited in the
    office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court at
    Auckland; or within the limits of deviation set forth
    on the said plan by dotted red lines, being generally
    not more than 110 yards on either side of the said
    line, unless otherwise delineated on the aforesaid plan,
    and passing in, through, over or into the several
    places, lands, roads, reserves, streams and water-
    courses enumerated in the Third Schedule hereto.

THIRD SCHEDULE,
OR BOOK OF REFERENCE.
Lands and Roads, &c., proposed to be taken for the
purposes of the portions of the Railway from Auck-
land to Mercer, hereinbefore described.
So much of the lands and roads hereinafter men-
tioned as are required for the said portion of the said
railway along the line of the said railway herein-
before defined, or within the limits of deviation
aforesaid, as the lands are described and defined in
the plan or book of reference aforesaid.

PARISH OF PAPAKURA.
Wairoa Highway District.
Native Reserve, Lots numbered 33, 40 and 41.

PARISH OF KARAKA.
Karaka Highway District.
Lots numbered 58, 76, 60 and 79.

PARISH OF MANGATAWHIRI.
Mangatawhiri Highway District.
Lot numbered 10.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Most Honorable George Augustus Con-
stantine, Marquis of Normanby, Earl of
Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and
Baron Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the
County of York, in the Peerage of the
United Kingdom; and Baron Mulgrave
of New Ross, in the County of Wexford,
in the Peerage of Ireland; a Member of
Her Majesty's Most Honorable Privy
Council; Knight Commander of the Most
Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George; Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and
Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued
under the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
thirteenth day of October, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-six.

Alteration of Rates of Postage.

NORMANBY, Governor.
A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled "The New Zealand Post
Office Act, 1858," it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor in Council from time to time,
by Proclamation to be published in the New Zealand Gazette, to fix, alter, and abolish the rates of postage
at any time payable within the colony for the transmission of letters and newspapers by post, either
between places within New Zealand or to or from places beyond seas, and at what time the same shall be
paid, and that the postage so made payable shall be charged and paid accordingly: And whereas by
Proclamation bearing date the fourth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-six, and
published in the New Zealand Gazette of the sixth day of July in the same year, the Governor in Council
did, in pursuance of the said recited power and authority, fix certain rates of postage and the times at
which the same respectively should be paid: And whereas it is desirable that the said rates should be
altered as hereinafter mentioned:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of New Zealand, in exercise of the said recited power
and authority, and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby alter the
rates of postage fixed to be paid within the colony, and doth proclaim and declare that the postage payable
within the colony for the transmission of all letters, newspapers, and packets by post to or from the countries
and places mentioned in the Schedule hereto, shall be according to the rates mentioned in such Schedule,
and that such postage shall in all cases be paid at the time such letters, newspapers, and packets are
delivered into the post; and with the like advice and consent as aforesaid, doth further proclaim and declare
that this Proclamation shall take effect from and after the third day of October, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-six.
