Altering Boundaries of Resident Magistrates' Dis-
tricts of Papakura and Waikato.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by "The Resident Magistrates Act,
1867," it is enacted that it shall be lawful for
the Governor from time to time, by Proclamation in
the New Zealand Gazette, to constitute throughout
the colony, or in any part thereof, districts to be
called Resident Magistrates' Districts, and such
districts from time to time to abolish, and the
boundaries to define and alter, and in any such
Proclamation to fix a time on and from which any
such district shall be constituted or abolished, as
the case may be: And whereas by a Proclamation
bearing date the thirty-first day of August, one
thousand eight hundred and seventy-four, His Excel-
lency the Governor, in pursuance and exercise of
the powers and authorities so vested in him, did
proclaim and constitute the Districts of Papakura
and Waikato, as described in the Schedule to the
said Proclamation; to be, on and from the first day of
October, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
four, Resident Magistrates' Districts within the
meaning and for the purposes of the said Act:
And whereas it is expedient to alter the boundaries
of the said Districts of Papakura and Waikato so
constituted as aforesaid:
Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
powers and authorities so vested in me as aforesaid,
do hereby alter the boundaries of the said Districts
of Papakura and Waikato, as described in the
Schedule hereto, as and from the first day of Octo-
ber next.
SCHEDULE.
PAPAKURA DISTRICT.
BOUNDED towards the North by the Onehunga Dis-
trict, as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1867,
page 491, and by the Tamaki Strait to Oreri Point;
thence towards the East by a line to the Wairoa
Range, and along that range and by a line due south
to the utmost northerly source of the Maungatawhiri
Stream; thence towards the South by that stream to
its confluence with the Waikato River; thence along
the western bank of the Waikato River to the mouth
of the Whangape Stream; thence by a line running
due west to the eastern boundary of the Waiuku
District; thence towards the West by the said Wai-
uku District, as described in New Zealand Gazette,
1867, page 492; and then by the Manukau Harbour
to the commencing point.
WAIKATO DISTRICT.
Bounded towards the North by the southern
boundary of the Papakura District, hereinbefore
defined; towards the West by part of the Hauraki
District, as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1874,
page 580, to its south-western angle; thence again
on the North by the southern boundary of that
district to the summit of Te Aroha Mountain; thence
by the south-western boundary of the Tauranga Dis-
trict, as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1867, page
492, to the summit of the Otane Wainuku Mountain;
thence by a line to the summit of Maungakawa Moun-
tain and by the southern and western boundaries of
the Military Settlements Block to north-western angle
of that block; thence by a line to the south-eastern
angle of the Waiuku District, as described in the
New Zealand Gazette, 1867, page 492; and thence by
the eastern boundary of that district to the south-
western angle of the Papakura District, the com-
mencing point.

WHEREAS under the provisions of "The Immi-
gration and Public Works Act, 1870," and
the several Acts amending the same, and other Acts,
certain lines of railway have been constructed by the
Governor: And whereas by "The Immigration and
Public Works Act, 1875," the Governor in Council
is authorized to make regulations and bye-laws ap-
plicable to all railways constructed by him under the
authority of the said hereinbefore mentioned Acts,
