and actually open for traffic, whether the whole of
such railway shall have been completed or not; and
whenever it shall be necessary to extend the opera-
tion of such regulations and bye-laws to any particu-
lar railway, it shall be lawful for the Governor, by a
notification published in the New Zealand Gazette, to
extend the operation of such bye-laws to the railway
or railways named therein, and that, from and after
a day to be fixed in such notification, the regulations
and bye-laws so made as aforesaid shall for all pur-
poses be, and be deemed to be, the regulations and bye-
laws in force for the railway or railways named therein:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of
New Zealand, with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council thereof, and in exercise and pur-
suance of all powers and authorities enabling him in
this behalf, doth hereby extend the operation of the
Bye-laws, Rules and Regulations published in the
New Zealand Gazette, Nos. 8 and 27, of 10th
February and 11th May, 1876, respectively, to the
portion of the line of railway mentioned in the
Schedule hereto; said Bye-laws, Rules and Regula-
tions to be from that date deemed to be the Regu-
lation and Bye-laws in force for the portion of the
line of railway mentioned in the Schedule aforesaid.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twelfth
day of September, 1876.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by "The Waste Lands Act, 1858,"
it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the
Governor in Council, at any time and from time to
time, to except from sale, and either reserve to Her
Majesty or dispose of in such other manner as for the
public interest may seem best, such of the waste
lands of the Crown in any of the provinces of the
colony as may be required for the purposes of
military defence, or for the construction of trunk
lines of road, or as sites for public buildings for the
use of the General Government, or for other purposes
of public utility or convenience:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the Colony, in exercise and pursuance of
the power and authority in that behalf vested in him,
doth hereby except from sale and reserve to Her
Majesty the parcel of the waste lands of the Crown
particularly specified and described in the Schedule
hereunder written, for the purpose in the said Schedule
mentioned and set opposite the description of the said
parcel of land.

All that parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement two acres, more or less, being
Lots numbered respectively seventy-nine and
eighty of the Village of Kamo, situated in the
Parish of Wangarei, and County of Marsden.

Notice to Superintendent of Land reserved for Sites
for Public Buildings, &c.

NORMANBY, Governor.

To Sir GEORGE GREY, K.C.B., Superintendent of
the Province of Auckland.

NOTICE is hereby given, that the parcel of waste
lands of the Crown particularly specified and
described in the Schedule hereunder written is re-
quired for the purpose mentioned and set opposite to
the description of the said parcel of land in the said
Schedule, and that the same has been excepted from
sale and reserved to Her Majesty by the Order in
Council bearing the date mentioned in the second
column of the said Schedule.

Warrant abolishing a Polling Place.

NORMANBY, Governor.

TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COME,

GREETING:

WHEREAS by "The Regulation of Elections
Act, 1870," it is enacted that it shall be law-
ful for the Governor, by Warrant under his hand,
from time to time to appoint Polling Places for each
Electoral District within or within one mile of the
limits thereof, and to appoint any one of such Polling
Places to be the principal Polling Place for the Dis-
trict, and all or any of such Polling Places from time
to time to abolish, and if he think fit to appoint other
Polling Places in lieu of those abolished, and that
every such Warrant shall be published in the New
Zealand Gazette
: Provided always that no Polling
Place shall be appointed by the Governor under the
said Act, unless he shall be first satisfied that the
place to be appointed is more convenient than any
other for at least twenty electors to record their
votes thereat:

And whereas by Warrant under the hand of the
Governor, bearing date the sixth day of December,
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five,

The Public Hall, Otahuhu,

was appointed a Polling Place for the District of
Franklin, for the election of Members of the House
of Representatives:

And whereas it is expedient to abolish the same :

Now know ye that I, George Augustus Constan-
tine, Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of New
Zealand, in pursuance of the power and authority
in me vested by the said Act, do hereby abolish the
above-named Polling Place for the District of Frank-
lin, for the election of Members of the House of
Representatives.
