is enacted that the various books, instruments, and
papers required to be used under the said Act, or the
provisions of the Acts thereby adopted, shall be sup-
plied at the Custom Houses or mercantile marine
offices in New Zealand, at such moderate prices as the
Governor in Council may from time to time fix: And
whereas it is expedient to fix the prices aforesaid:
Now, therefore, His Excellency George Augustus
Constantine, Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exer-
cise of the authority in him vested by the said recited
Act, by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the Colony, doth hereby fix the
prices mentioned in the table following as the prices
for the books, instruments, and papers specified
therein, that is to say,-

to certain Documents issued in the Supreme Court.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this
twenty-seventh day of June, 1876.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by "The Telegraph Service of Notices
Act, 1872," it is enacted that the term
"notice," when used in the said Act, means any
notice or other document which by law or the agree-
ment of parties is required to be served upon any
person, or at his house or place of abode or business,
in order that such person may be affected thereby;
and to the end that the application of this Act may
be put beyond doubt, the Governor in Council may,
by Order from time to time, prescribe and define
classes and kinds of notices or other documents
which shall be included within the said term, and
thereupon the said term shall be deemed to include all
notices and documents falling within such classes
and kinds so defined and prescribed, as if the same
were in the said Act expressly mentioned as so in-
cluded; and the Governor in Council may from time
to time revoke or alter any such order:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and
exercise of the power and authority vested in
him as aforesaid, and by and with the consent
and advice of the Executive Council, doth hereby
define the term "notice" used in "The Telegraph
Service of Notices Act, 1872," as including all
notices and other documents of every kind in the
course of proceedings in the Supreme Court, which
the Supreme Court or any Judge thereof may by
order require or permit to be served in the manner
provided by the said "Telegraph Service of Notices
Act, 1872," and the regulations thereunder for the
time being in force.

Notification of Governor's Assent to Construction of
Railway from Dunedin to Anderson's Bay, and
Ocean Beach and Forbury.

NORMANBY, Governor.

WHEREAS by the seventh subsection of the
fourth section of "The Railway Companies
Act, 1875," (hereinafter called "the said Act,") it is,
amongst other things, enacted that if any such
proposed branch railway as is mentioned in the Act
is approved of, and such approval is signified as here-
inafter provided, then the company may proceed with
the construction of such railway in accordance with
the said Act: And it is further enacted that when-
ever the Governor shall approve of any proposed
branch railway, he shall, by notice published in the
New Zealand Gazette, declare his assent to the con-
struction of the railway, and such notice, when so
published, shall be sufficient notice to the company of
such approval: And whereas the Dunedin, Peninsula,
and Ocean Beach Railway Company (Limited) have
deposited plans of a projected railway from the
Dunedin and Clutha Railway to Anderson's Bay, and
Ocean Beach and Forbury, at the office of the Registrar
of the Supreme Court at Dunedin, and in other re-
spects complied with the terms of the said Act: And
whereas one-half of the whole body of the ratepayers
resident within the highway districts through which
the railway is proposed to be constructed have not
objected to the construction of the railway: Now,
therefore, His Excellency the Governor of New
Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
and authorities conferred on him by the hereinbefore
in part recited Act, and in exercise of every other
power enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby notify
and declare that he consents to the construction of
the said railway from the Dunedin and Clutha Rail-
way to Anderson's Bay, and Ocean Beach and
Forbury.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Most Honorable George Augustus Con-
stantine, Marquis of Normanby, Earl of
Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and Baron
Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the County
of York, in the Peerage of the United
Kingdom; and Baron Mulgrave of New
Ross, in the County of Wexford, in the
Peerage of Ireland; a Member of Her
Majesty's Most Honorable Privy Coun-
cil; Knight Commander of the Most
Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George; Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued
under the Seal of the said Colony, at
the Government House, at Wellington,
this twenty-seventh day of June, in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-six.

for Public Vaccination.

WHEREAS by Warrant under the hand of the
Governor, dated the twenty-sixth day of No-
vember, 1874, the Settlers' Hotel at Mongonui, in
the Province of Auckland, was appointed a place at
which the Public Vaccinator appointed for the Dis-
trict of Mongonui should attend for the performance
