Administration of justice therein, and to appoint
Wardens of such Courts, with power to act alone or
with assessors, and in such manner, and to exercise
all or any of the powers thereafter mentioned, as
the Governor shall think fit to direct:
Now therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the Colony, doth hereby, in pursuance and
exercise of the power and authority vested in him for
this purpose, appoint

EDWARD SHAW, Esq.,
to be a Warden of all Wardens' Courts now consti-
tuted, or hereafter to be constituted, within the
Nelson South-West Gold Fields, with power to him
to act alone or with assessors, and to exercise all or
any of the powers vested in or imposed on Judges
of Wardens' Courts.

Appointing additional Gazettes under "The Debtors
and Creditors Act, 1875."

NORMANBY, Governor.

WHEREAS by the fifth section of "The Debtors
and Creditors Act, 1875," it is, amongst other
things, enacted that the term "Gazette" in the said
Act shall mean any newspaper or newspapers to be
from time to time appointed by the Governor for
each district: And whereas by a Proclamation
dated the twenty-second day of December, one
thousand eight hundred and seventy-five, the districts
named in the Schedule hereto were, amongst others, con-
stituted districts under the said Act: And whereas by
a notice also dated the twenty-second day of Decem-
ber, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five,
certain newspapers were appointed Gazettes for such
districts respectively; and whereas it is expedient to
appoint other newspapers Gazettes in addition to
those appointed as aforesaid: Now therefore, I,
George Augustus Constantine, Marquis of Normanby,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in
pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
vested in me, do hereby appoint that, for the districts
named in the Schedule hereto, the newspapers the
names whereof are in the said Schedule set opposite
to the names of such districts shall be the Gazettes
for such districts respectively under the said Act, in
addition to the newspapers appointed by the said
notice of the twenty-second day of December, one
thousand eight hundred and seventy-five.

Diseased Cattle Importation.

THE following Proclamations relating to the im-
portation of diseased cattle, and the prohibition
of the importation of carcases of cattle, sheep, and
pigs, issued by the Government of Tasmania, are
published for general information.

DISEASED CATTLE IMPORTATION.

By His Excellency FREDERICK ALOYSIUS WELD,
Esquire, Companion of the Most Distinguished
Order of St. Michael and St. George, Governor
and Commander-in-Chief in and over the Colony
of Tasmania and its Dependencies.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by my Proclamation dated the fifth day
of April last past, I, Frederick Aloysius Weld,
Esquire, Governor and Commander-in-Chief as afore-
said, by and with the advice of the Executive Coun-
cil, and by virtue of the powers conferred upon me
(25 Victoria, No. 4), did restrict the importation into
any part of Tasmania of cattle imported for any
purpose other than slaughter from any part of the
Colonies of Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland,
South Australia, and Western Australia: And
whereas by my Proclamation dated the twelfth day
of April aforesaid, I, the said Frederick Aloysius
Weld, Esquire, Governor and Commander-in-Chief as
aforesaid, did, by and with the advice of the
Executive Council, make further provision in respect
of the importation of cattle for any purpose other
than slaughter from the Colony of New South Wales:
And whereas it is expedient to annul the lastly here-
tofore recited Proclamation, and to make other
provision in lieu thereof: Now therefore, I, Frederick
Aloysius Weld, Esquire, Companion of the Most
Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint
George, Governor and Commander-in-Chief as afore-
said, by and with the advice of the Executive Council,
and by virtue of the power conferred on me (25
Victoria, No. 4), do hereby annul the said Procla-
mation dated the twelfth day of April aforesaid,
and further do, by this Proclamation, prohibit the im-
portation into any part of Tasmania of all cattle im-
ported for any purpose other than slaughter from any
part of the Colonies of New South Wales, Victoria,
Queensland, South Australia, and Western Australia,
and New Zealand, under the provisions of the firstly
hereinbefore recited Proclamation, unless the owner
of such cattle shall produce to the Inspecting Officer
appointed by the Governor in Council, at the port in
Tasmania where the same shall arrive, a certificate in
writing, signed by a duly qualified veterinary
surgeon, to the effect that such cattle were inspected
and examined by him immediately before shipment,
and that they were at the time they were so inspected
and examined by him free from any contagious or
infectious disease whatever which would be likely to
propagate amongst men or animals any such con-
tagious or infectious disease, or any other disease.

Given under my hand at Hobart Town, in
Tasmania aforesaid, this thirteenth day of
December, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five.
