seventh section of "The Marine Act, 1867," as enable
him to erect, superintend, and maintain harbour
marks, buoys, lights, and beacons within the limits
of the Port of Dunedin or the approaches thereto:
Subject, however, to such directions as may from time
to time be issued by the Commissioner of Customs
as to the size, position, and colour of such harbour
marks, buoys, and, beacons, and, in the case of lights,
to the approval first obtained of the said Commissioner
of Customs: Also such of the powers vested in the
Governor by the said seventh section as enables him to
suspend Port or Harbour Masters, and to appoint,
suspend, or remove other officers of any port or har-
bour: Provided that this delegation shall be limited
to the Port of Dunedin.
The Port of Dunedin referred to in the foregoing
Order in Council is defined in a Warrant bearing date
the nineteenth day of April, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-five, and published in the New
Zealand Gazette of the twenty-second day of April in
the same year.

Revocation of certain Powers delegated to the Superin-
tendent of Otago under "The Marine Act, 1867."

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
eleventh day of January, 1876.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by the sixth section of "The Marine
Act, 1867," it is, amongst other things, enacted
that the Governor may, by Order in Council, from
time to time delegate all or any of the powers and
authorities vested in him by the said Act as therein
mentioned, and every such delegation from time to
time alter or revoke: And whereas by an Order in
Council dated the eighth day of January, one
thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight, and pub-
lished in the New Zealand Gazette of the twenty-third
of January in the same year, His Excellency the then
Governor, by and with the consent of the Executive
Council of the Colony, did delegate unto the Superin-
tendent of the Province of Otago, and his successors
in such office, certain powers vested in him by sec-
tions seven, twelve, thirteen, and forty-two of the
said Act: And whereas it is expedient to revoke the dele-
gation so made as aforesaid, so far as concerns the
Port of Dunedin:
Now therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, by and with the consent of the
Executive Council of the said Colony, do hereby, in
pursuance and exercise of the power and authority in
me vested in that behalf, revoke so much of the said
Order in Council, of the eighth day of January, one
thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight, as delegated
to the Superintendent of the Province of Otago, and
his successors in such office, the powers therein speci-
fied under the seventh section of "The Marine Act,
1867," and the powers under the twelfth, thirteenth,
and forty-second sections of the said Act; but such
revocation shall operate and extend with respect to
the Port of Dunedin only, as such port is defined in
a Warrant bearing date the nineteenth day of April,
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five, and
published in the New Zealand Gazette of the twenty-
second day of April in the same year.

sections of "The Marine Act, 1867," to the Otago
Harbour Board.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
eleventh day of January, 1876.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by the sixth section of "The Marine
Act, 1867," hereinafter called "the said Act," it
is, among other things, enacted that the Governor in
Council may from time to time delegate all or any of
the powers vested in him by the said Act, subject to
any restrictions or stipulations which may be specified
in such order; and whereas by an Order in Council
bearing even date herewith, the Governor did, amongst
other things, revoke so much of an Order in Council
bearing date the eighth day of January, one thousand
eight hundred and sixty-eight, as delegated to the
Superintendent of the Province of Otago, and his
successors in such office, certain powers under the
twelfth section of the said Act; but in the Order in
Council now in recital it was provided that such re-
vocation should operate and extend with respect to
the Port of Dunedin only: And whereas and by vir-
tue of "The Harbour Boards Act, 1870," two Ordi-
nances have been passed by the Superintendent and
Provincial Council of the Province of Otago intituled
respectively "The Otago Harbour Board Ordinance,
1874," and "The Otago Harbour Board Ordinance
1874 Amendment Ordinance, 1875," whereby a Har-
bour Board for the Port of Dunedin has been con-
stituted under the name of "The Otago Harbour
Board:" And whereas it is expedient that the powers
conferred upon the Governor by the twelfth, thir-
teenth, and forty-second sections of the said Act
should be delegated to the said Board as hereinafter
provided:
Now therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
hereinbefore recited power and authority, and by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said Colony, do hereby delegate unto the Otago
Harbour Board the powers vested in me by the twelfth,
thirteenth, and forty-second sections of the said Act:
Provided, however, that this delegation shall extend
and operate as far as regards the Port of Dunedin only;
and that the powers so delegated shall only be exercised
by the said Board within the limits of the said port,
as the same is defined in a Warrant bearing date the
nineteenth day of April, one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-five, and published in the New Zealand
Gazette of the twenty-second day of April in the
same year.
