ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
sixteenth day of February, 1875.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by the nineteenth section of "The
Public Health Act, 1872," it is enacted that
the Governor in Council may make orders from time
to time directing that the provisions thereinafter in
the second part of the said Act contained, or any of
them, be put in force in New Zealand, or in such parts
thereof or in such places therein as in such orders re-
spectively may be expressed, and may in like manner
revoke or renew any such order; and, subject to revoca-
tion or renewal as aforesaid, every such order shall be
in force for six calendar months from the publication of
such order, or for such shorter periods as in such order
shall be expressed, and no longer; and every such
order shall be published in the General Government
Gazette, and such publication shall be conclusive
evidence of such order to all intents and purposes;
and none of the said provisions shall be in force in
any part of New Zealand until an order directing the
same to be put in force shall have been made and
published as aforesaid:
Now therefore, His Excellency the Governor, with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council, and
in exercise and pursuance of all power and authority
in this behalf in him vested, doth hereby direct that
the provisions contained in the sections of the said
Act numbered from twenty to forty-five, both in-
clusive, shall be put in force in the Province of
Nelson.

WHEREAS by "The Waste Lands Act, 1858,"
it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the
Governor in Council, at any time and from time to
time, to except from sale, and either reserve to Her
Majesty or dispose of in such other manner as for
the public interest may seem best, such of the waste
lands of the Crown in any of the provinces of the
colony as may be required for the purposes of
military defence, or for the construction of trunk
lines of road, or as sites for public buildings for
the use of the General Government, or for other
purposes of public utility or convenience:
Now therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the Colony, in exercise and pursuance of
the power and authority in that behalf vested in him,
doth hereby except from sale and reserve to Her
Majesty the several parcels of the waste lands of the
Crown particularly specified and described in the
Schedule hereunder written, for the purpose in the
said Schedule mentioned, and set opposite the de-
scription of the said parcels of land.

of Marlborough, situate in Cook Strait, and
being the islets known as "The Brothers;"
bounded on all sides by the sea.

tendent of the Province of Marlborough.
NOTICE is hereby given, that the several parcels
of waste lands of the Crown particularly
specified and described in the Schedule hereunder
written are required for the purposes mentioned and
set opposite to the descriptions of the said parcels of
land respectively in the said Schedule, and that the
same have been respectively excepted from sale and
reserved to Her Majesty by the Order in Council
bearing the date mentioned in the second column of
the said Schedule.

WHEREAS by the thirteenth section of "The
Immigration and Public Works Act, 1874,"
it is enacted that the Governor may from time to
time make reserves of waste lands of the Crowr
for a ferry and ferry-house, and land to be occupied
therewith, within any part of New Zealand in whick
any road is constructed or in course of constructior
by the Governor under "The Immigration and Public
Works Act, 1870," or the Acts amending the same
and may let the same on such terms and conditions
as he thinks fit:
Now therefore, His Excellency the Governor, ir
pursuance and exercise of the hereinbefore recitec
power and authority, doth hereby reserve and sel
apart the several pieces or parcels of land, being
waste lands of the Crown, described in the Schedule
hereto, as reserves for ferries and ferry-houses.
