THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

  1. All such licenses shall be made to expire on the
    31st day of December next following the date of
    granting the same.
  2. The house and premises in respect of which any
    such license may be granted shall not be opened
    before six o'clock in the morning, and shall be closed
    at ten o'clock at night: Provided that upon payment
    at the time of issue of license of an extra fee of five
    pounds, permission may be given to keep open the
    licensed premises until twelve o'clock p.m.; but the
    restrictions in this regulation contained shall not
    apply to the supply of refreshments to bond fide
    travellers.
  3. No such licensed house or premises shall be
    opened for the sale of alcoholic liquors on Sundays,
    except in the case of bond fide travellers as aforesaid.
  4. The accommodation to be provided in respect
    of any house or premises for which a license shall be
    applied for hereunder shall be such as shall be
    approved of by the person empowered to grant such
    license.
  5. Applications for licenses must be in writing,
    addressed to the person empowered to grant the
    same, and must specify the locality for which the
    license is asked, and the accommodation provided or
    intended to be provided for the public, and the hours
    during which it is proposed such house and premises
    shall be open.
  6. Except in so far as they may be inconsistent
    with or contrary to the provisions of section 39 of
    "The Licensing Act 1873 Amendment Act, 1874,"
    and of these regulations, the whole of the laws now
    in force within the Province of Auckland for the
    regulation of the sale of alcoholic liquors shall be
    applicable to all licenses granted hereunder; and
    excepting as aforesaid, any such licensee shall be
    deemed to have imposed upon him all the duties, lia-
    bilities, and obligations which are imposed upon the
    holders of publicans' licenses under the said laws.
  7. Every license granted hereunder shall be sub-
    ject to be forfeited if in the opinion of the person
    empowered to grant licenses hereunder it shall be
    necessary or desirable to do so; and such forfeiture
    shall be deemed to be complete when notice thereof
    under his hand shall have been delivered to the
    licensee or affixed to the licensed premises.

"The Grammar School Reserve Sale Act, 1875;"
"The Onehunga Wharf Extension Act, 1875;"

"The Hospital Site Exchange Act, 1875,"

Provincial Ordinance of Otago allowed by the Governor.

THE following Ordinance, passed by the Provin-
cial Council, and assented to by the Superin-
tendent of Otago on behalf of the Governor, intituled
"The University of Otago Lands Trust Ordi-
nance, 1875,"

having been laid before the Governor, His Excellency
has not been advised to exercise his power of dis-
allowance with respect to the same.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to
appoint

WILLIAM JOHN MOORE, Esq.,

to be the Registrar of Marriages, and of Births,
Deaths, and Marriages, and also Vaccination Inspec-
tor, for the District of Kaihiku, as the same is defined
in Proclamation of the 8th day of May, 1873, and
published in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 28, of the
9th day of May, 1873.

Public Vaccinator appointed.

IT is hereby notified that, under the provisions of
"The Public Health Act, 1872," His Excellency
the Governor has been pleased to appoint the under-
mentioned gentleman to be a Public Vaccinator, to
perform gratuitous vaccination in accordance with
the provisions of the said Act, and any regulations
made or to be made thereunder, for the district
mentioned in the Schedule hereto, and set opposite
his name.
