MASTHEAD ISLAND AND DETACHED REEF.
Error in Position.
THE correct position of Masthead Island and the
detached reef has been ascertained by Staff Com-
mander Bedwell, R.N., the Admiralty Surveyor, to
be 3 miles W. by S. from that assigned to it upon the
present charts; thus narrowing the channel between
Cape Capricorn and the detached reef by that
distance.

IT is hereby notified, that the Native title has been
extinguished over the block of land whereof the
boundaries are mentioned or described in the Schedule
hereunto annexed.

ALL that parcel of land situated on the Thames
River, containing thirty-six acres, more or less;
bounded towards the North-east by the Thames River;
towards the South-east by the Tamahore Block, 769
links, 169 links, and 2091 links; towards the South-
west by the Tahanui Block, 1480 links; and towards
the North-west by the Tahanui Block aforesaid,
3264 links.

having been laid before the Governor, His Excellency
has been pleased to withhold his assent from the
same.
