in force in Napier.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
sixth day of April, 1875.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
W HEREAS by the nineteenth section of "The
Public Health Act, 1872," it is enacted that the
Governor in Council may make orders from time to
time directing that the provisions thereinafter in
the Second Part of the said Act contained, or any of
them, be put in force in New Zealand, or in such
parts thereof or in such places therein as in such
orders respectively may be expressed, and may in
like manner revoke or renew any such order; and,
subject to such revocation or renewal as aforesaid,
every such order shall be in force for six calendar
months from the publication of such order, or for such
shorter period as in such order shall be expressed,
and no longer; and every such order shall be pub-
lished in the General Government Gazette, and
such publication shall be conclusive evidence of such
order to all intents and purposes; and none of the said
provisions shall be in force in any part of New Zealand
until an order directing the same to be put in force
shall have been made and published as aforesaid :
Now therefore, His Excellency the Governor, with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council, and
in exercise and pursuance of all power and authority
in this behalf in him vested, doth hereby direct that
the provisions contained in the sections of the said
Act numbered from twenty to forty-five, both inclu-
sive, shall be put in force in the Town of Napier.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
W HEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly
of New Zealand, intituled "The Gold Fields
Act, 1866," it is enacted that it shall be lawful for
the Governor in Council, under his hand and the
Public Seal of the colony, from time to time to
delegate to the Superintendent of any province, or
such other person as the Governor may deem fit, all
or any of the powers vested in the Governor or the
Governor in Council by the Act now in recital, except
the powers conferred by sections twenty-two, forty,
forty-eight, sixty, ninety-six, and one hundred and
seven of the said Act, subject or not to any limita-
tions or restrictions as he may think fit, and in like
manner to alter or revoke any such powers:
And whereas by Order in Council bearing date the
seventeenth day of February last, and published in
the New Zealand Gazette, of the eighteenth day of
February last, all the powers vested in the Governor
under or by virtue of the said Act, except the powers
conferred by sections twenty-two, forty, forty-eight,
sixty, ninety-six, and one hundred and seven, were
delegated unto the Honorable Daniel Pollen, as
therein mentioned:
And whereas it is expedient that such powers
should be revoked:
Now therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said colony,
and in exercise and pursuance of the power and
authority conferred upon him by the said Act, doth
hereby revoke all the powers delegated unto the
Honorable Daniel Pollen as aforesaid, by virtue
of the said Order in Council.

Warrant abolishing Polling Places.
NORMANBY, Governor.
TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COME,
GREETING:
W HEREAS by "The Regulation of Elections
Act, 1870," it is enacted that it shall be lawful
for the Governor, by Warrant under his hand, from
time to time to appoint Polling Places for each
Electoral District within or within one mile of the
limits thereof, and to appoint any one of such Polling
Places to be the Principal Polling Place for the
district, and all or any of such Polling Places from
time to time to abolish, and, if he think fit, to appoint
other Polling Places in lieu of those abolished, and
that every such Warrant shall be published in the
New Zealand Gazette: Provided always that no
Polling Place shall be appointed by the Governor
under the said Act unless he shall be first satisfied
that the place to be appointed is more convenient
than any other for at least twenty electors to record
their votes thereat:
And whereas by Warrant under the hand of the
Governor, bearing date the fourth day of February,
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-one, certain
places were appointed Polling Places and Principal
Polling Places for the Province of Hawke's Bay, for
the election of Members of the Provincial Council
of the said Province:
And whereas it is expedient to abolish the same:
Now know ye that I, George Augustus Constan-
tine, Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of New
Zealand, in pursuance of the power and authority
in me vested by the said Act, do hereby abolish the
above-mentioned Polling Places and Principal Polling
Places for the said Province, for the election of
Members of the Provincial Council thereof.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Most Honorable George Augustus Con-
stantine, Marquis of Normanby, Earl of
Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and
Baron Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the
County of York, in the Peerage of the
United Kingdom; and Baron Mulgrave
of New Ross, in the County of Wexford,
in the Peerage of Ireland; a Member of
Her Majesty's Most Honorable Privy
Council Knight Commander of the Most
Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George; Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and
Vice-Admiral of the same; at Welling-
ton, this eighth day of April, in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-five.
