lawful for the Governor, by Warrant under his hand,
from time to time to appoint Polling Places for each
Electoral District within or within one mile of the
limits thereof, and to appoint any one of such Polling
Places to be the Principal Polling Place for the
district, and all or any of such Polling Places from
time to time to abolish, and, if he think fit, to appoint
other Polling Places in lieu of those abolished, and
that every such Warrant shall be published in the
New Zealand Gazette: Provided always that no
Polling Place shall be appointed by the Governor
under the said Act unless he shall be first satisfied
that the place to be appointed is more convenient
than any other for at least twenty electors to record
their votes thereat:

Now know ye that I, George Augustus Constan-
tine, Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of New
Zealand, in pursuance of the power and authority
in me vested by the said Act, do hereby appoint
the following places to be Polling Places for the
Electoral Districts hereinafter specified, for the
election of Members of the Provincial Council of the
Province of Hawke's Bay, namely,-

For the District of Napier City East:
The Council Chamber, Napier.
For the District of Napier City West:
The Side Room, Odd Fellows' Hall, Napier.
For the District of Suburban North:
The Resident Magistrate's Court, Napier.
For the District of Suburban South:
The Side Room, Odd Fellows' Hall, Napier.
For the District of Port Ahuriri:
The Examination Shed on the Custom House
Wharf, Port Ahuriri.
For the District of Wairoa:
The Resident Magistrate's Court, Clyde.
For the District of Mohaka:
The Block House, Mohaka.
For the District of Petane:
The School House, Petane.
For the District of Napier Country:
The Police Station, Taradale.
Mrs. Carr's School House, Meeanee.
The School House, Puketapu.
For the District of Hastings:
The School House, Hastings.
For the District of Clive:
The School House, West Clive.
Mr. F. J. Tiffen's Woolshed, Oero.
For the District of Havelock:
The Mechanics' Institute, Havelock.
For the District of Hampden:
Mr. Matthew's Building, Hampden.
For the District of Te Aute:
The Resident Magistrate's Court, Waipawa.
The School House, Kaikoura.
The Railway Station, Paki Paki.
For the District of Waipukurau:
Mr. Purvis Russell's Woolshed, Waipukurau.
The Hon. John Johnston's Station, Tamumu.
For the District of Porangahau:
Mr. White's Store, Porangahau.
Mr. Ormond's Woolshed, Wallingford.
For the District of Ruataniwha:
Mr. Alexander Grant's Woolshed, Ruataniwha.

And I do further appoint the Polling Places herein-
after specified to be the Principal Polling Places for
such districts, namely,-

in the Peerage of Ireland; a Member of
Her Majesty's Most Honorable Privy
Council, Knight Commander of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint
Michael and Saint George, Governor
and Commander-in-Chief in and over
Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand

TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COME,
GREETING:

WHEREAS by "The Regulation of Elections
Act, 1870," it is enacted that it shall be lawful
for the Governor, by Warrant under his hand, from
time to time to appoint Polling Places for each
Electoral District within or within one mile of the
limits thereof, and to appoint any one of such Polling
Places to be the Principal Polling Place for the
