Enlarging Boundaries of Hauraki Gold Mining
District.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the eighth section of "The Gold
Mining Districts Act, 1873," it is among other
things enacted that it shall be lawful for the
Governor from time to time, by proclamation in
the General Government Gazette, to enlarge, con-
tract, or otherwise alter the boundaries of gold
mining districts constituted under the said Act:
And whereas it is among other things further
enacted by the one hundred and eighty-seventh
section of the said Act, that every district constituted
under "The Gold Mining Districts Act, 1871," shall
be deemed to be a district constituted under the now
reciting Act:
And whereas under the provisions of the said
"Gold Mining Districts Act, 1871," a certain district
within the Province of Auckland has been proclaimed
a gold mining district under that Act, and designated
by the name of "The Hauraki Gold Mining District,"
and the boundaries of such district have been
enlarged under the authority of the said Act:
And whereas it is expedient further to enlarge the
boundaries of the said district as at present consti-
tuted:
Now therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of every
power and authority enabling me in this behalf, do
hereby proclaim and declare that the boundaries of
the said Hauraki Gold Mining District shall be and
the same are hereby enlarged so as to include the
lands mentioned and described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
The block of land known as Whenuakite; the block
known as Purangi; the block known as Te Puia;
the block known as Te Hoho; the block known as
Te Karo, No. I.; the block known as Te Karo, No.
II.; the block known as Tairua; the block known
as Rangahau; the block known as Kapowai; the
block known as Puketui; the block known as Whare-
kawa East, No. III.; the block known as Whare-
kawa East, No. I.; the block known as Whitipi-
rorua; the block known as Tautahanga; that portion
of the block known as Taparahi, Korongo, and Taka-
takaia not before included within the Hauraki Gold
Mining District, and that portion of the block known
as Pakirarahi not before included in the Hauraki
Gold Mining District, as the said blocks are more
particularly shown in the plans lodged in the
Inspector of Surveys' Office at Auckland, excepting
out of the said lands one thousand acres of Native
Reserve in the Tairua Block.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Most Honorable George Augustus Con-
stantine, Marquis of Normanby, Earl of
Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and
Baron Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the
County of York, in the Peerage of the
United Kingdom; and Baron Mulgrave
of New Ross in the County of Wexford,
in the Peerage of Ireland; a Member of
Her Majesty's Most Honorable Privy
Council; Knight Commander of the Most
Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George; Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and
Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued
under the Seal of the said Colony, at
the Government House at Wellington,
this eighth day of April, in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-five.
