Epsom Road, thence by the eastern side of the
Epsom Road aforesaid to the Great South Road;
towards the South-west by the Great South Road
aforesaid to the junction of roads at the Harp of
Erin Inn; thence towards the South by a direct line
from the junction of roads last named to the south-
western angle of Allotment No. 25 of Section No. 12
of the suburbs aforesaid, and by the southern
boundary of said Allotment No. 25, and the southern
boundary of Allotment No. 34 of Section No. 12 of
suburbs aforesaid to its south-eastern angle; and
towards the East by the eastern boundary of Allot-
ment No. 34 aforesaid to the Tamaki Road at its
north-eastern angle, thence by the south side of the
Tamaki Road aforesaid to the eastern boundary of
Section No. 16 of the Suburbs of Auckland aforesaid,
and thence by said eastern boundary of Section
No. 16 aforesaid, and the western boundary of
Allotment No. 40A of the Parish of Waitemata first
mentioned to the place of commencement. Exclu-
sive of the Native cultivations within the Orakei
Block, No. 1338.

Delegation under "The Contagious Diseases Act,
1869," to Superintendent of Canterbury.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
sixteenth day of November, 1874.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by "The Contagious Diseases Act,
1869," it is, among other things, enacted that
it shall be lawful for the Governor in Council, from
time to time to order and direct that all or any of
the powers, functions, duties, and authorities vested
in or required to be performed by the Governor, or
Governor in Council, by the said Act, within any
province or district of the colony within which the
said Act shall have been brought into operation,
shall be exercised or performed by the Superin-
tendent of any such province, or by any other person
the Governor may think fit, subject however to any
limitations or restrictions as he may think fit, as in
the said Act mentioned: And whereas by a Procla-
mation made by the Governor under the provisions
of the said Act, on the twenty-seventh day of March,
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-two, and
published in the New Zealand Gazette of the twenty-
eighth day of March, one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-two, the district in the Province of
Canterbury therein described and defined was de-
clared to be subject to the provisions of the said
Act: And whereas it is expedient that the Governor
should delegate to the Superintendent of the said
province the powers, functions, duties, and authorities
hereinafter mentioned, to be exercised by him within
the said district:
Now therefore, His Excellency Sir James Fer-
gusson, Baronet, the Governor of the Colony of New
Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and
authority vested in him by the said Act, and by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of
the said colony, doth hereby order and direct that all
the powers, functions, duties, and authorities vested
in or required to be performed by the Governor or
Governor in Council by the said Act, within the
said district, so described and defined by the said
Proclamation of the twenty-seventh day of March,
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-two, as
aforesaid, shall be exercised or performed by
WILLIAM ROLLESTON, Esq.,
the Superintendent of the said Province of Canter-
cantor:
bury: Provided, however, that this order shall only
authorize and empower the said William Rolleston
to exercise or perform such powers, functions, duties,
and authorities within such district as aforesaid so
long as he shall be and remain Superintendent of the
said province.

Delegation under "The Prisons Act, 1873," to
Superintendent of Canterbury.

WHEREAS by the fifty-first section of "The
Prisons Act, 1873," it is enacted that the
Governor in Council may, under his hand and the
Public Seal of the colony, from time to time delegate
to the Superintendent of any province the powers
by the forty-seventh and fiftieth sections of the said
Act vested in the Governor, to be exercised within
such Province and not elsewhere, and may from time
to time in like manner rescind any such delegation:
Now therefore I, Sir James Fergusson, Baronet, the
Governor of the said colony, in pursuance and
exercise of the power and authority vested in me
by the said in part recited Act, do hereby, with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, delegate
unto
WILLIAM ROLLESTON, Esq.,
as Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury,
all the powers vested in me by the forty-seventh and
fiftieth sections of the said Act, to be exercised with-
in such province and not elsewhere.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Right Honorable Sir James Fergusson,
Baronet, Knight Commander of the Most
Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, a Member of Her Majesty's
Most Honorable Privy Council, Governor
and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her
Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its
Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the
same; and issued under the Seal of the
said Colony, at Wellington, this sixteenth
day of November, in the year of our Lord
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
four.

Colonial Secretary, by the said Act, within any
province or other district of the colony, shall be
exercised or performed by the Superintendent of any
such province, or by any other person the Governor
may think fit; and thereupon such functions, powers,
duties, and authorities may, by such Superintendent
or other person, be exercised or performed within
the province or other district of the colony specified:
Now therefore, His Excellency Sir James Fergus-
