Duties payable under the Native Lands Act.
Treasury,
Wellington, 6th January, 1874.
PERSONS liable for the payment of duties under
the Native Lands Act, are informed that under
"The Native Lands Duties Act, 1873," a penalty of
10 per cent. per annum on the amount payable is
leviable in respect of all duties not paid at the due
date; and no transfer, lease, or other instrument in
respect of which such duty is payable, is valid or
effectual until the duty to which it is from time to
time liable is paid.

THE following Notices to Mariners, received from
the Portmaster, Brisbane, are published for
general information.
WILLIAM H. REYNOLDS.
TEMPORARY LIGHT, FLAT TOP ISLAND, PIONEER
RIVER.
ON and after this date, until further notice, a tem-
porary Light will be exhibited from the Signal Station
on Flat Top Island, at an elevation of 220 feet above
the sea level. The Light, in fine weather, will be
visible about 10 miles, except in a line with Round
Top Island, when the Light will be obscured on a
W.N.W. bearing, through an arc of less than a
quarter of a point.
