thence by the northern boundary of sections num-
bered 12, 7, 6, 11, and part of 12 on the plan of
Suburban South, to the Britannia Heights; thence
by the eastern boundary of sections numbered 4 and
1 on the plan of Suburban South; thence by the
northern boundary of the said section 1 to high
watermark, Nelson Haven; thence by a line to the
south-west angle of Fifeshire Island; and thence by
the outer edge of the Boulder Bank to the Light-
house. The said City is under the control and
management of a Board of Works, granted by Act
of the Provincial Council entitled "The Nelson Im-
provement Act, 1858," Session III., No. 3, amended
by "The Nelson Improvement Amendment Act,
1858," Session V., No. 11, as set forth in the First
Schedule of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1867."

Your Petitioners therefore humbly pray that
Your Excellency will be pleased to con-
stitute the said City, as defined in the
First Schedule of "The Municipal Cor-
porations Act, 1867," a Borough under
the said Act.

I, Robert Burn, of the City of Nelson, in the Pro-
vince of Nelson, in the Colony of New Zealand,
Tinsmith, do solemnly and sincerely declare that all
the signatures initialled by me with the letters marked
R.B., affixed to the annexed Petition marked A., are
the genuine signatures of the persons they purport to
be, and that such persons are inhabitant householders
of the city therein referred to; and I make this
solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same
to be true, and by virtue of an Act of the General
Assembly of New Zealand, intituled "The Justices

SIR, — In accordance with the provisions of the 22nd
section of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1867,"
I have the honor to inform you that I do not dissent
from the prayer of the Petition forwarded to His
Excellency the Governor by certain inhabitant house-
holders of the City of Nelson, asking that the City
of Nelson may be constituted a borough under the
said Act.
