following generally the watershed between the Black-
water River and the New River, crossing the A-T
line at the south-east angle of the Pakihi to the
River Teremakau, at the point of termination of the
eastern boundary of the before-described Paroa Dis-
trict; and thence along the eastern boundary of the
said Paroa District to the point of commencement.

  1. GREENSTONE DISTRICT.
    Commencing at the River Teremakau, at the ex-
    treme south-west corner of the before-described
    Clifton District; thence easterly along the south
    boundary of the said Clifton District to Lake Brun-
    ner; thence along the margin of the said lake to the
    River Arnold; and thence easterly along the south
    boundary of the Nelson Province to the west margin
    of Lady Lake; thence by a line running due south
    to the River Teremakau; and thence westerly along
    the north bank of the said river to the commencing
    point.

  2. WAIMEA DISTRICT.
    Bounded on the Northward by the south bank of
    the Teremakau River; on the Eastward by the Pro-
    vince of Canterbury; on the Southward by the south
    bank of the Arahura River; and on the Westward
    by the sea coast.

  3. KANIERI DISTRICT.
    Bounded on the Northward by the south bank of
    the Arahura River; on the Eastward by the Pro-
    vince of Canterbury; on the Southward by the
    south bank of Hokitika River; and on the Westward
    by the sea coast; exclusive of the Town of Hokitika
    District, herein next defined.

  4. TOWN OF HOKITIKA DISTRICT.
    Commencing at a point on the high bank of the old
    bed of the aforesaid river, the said point being 40
    chains 40 links west of Trigonometrical Station 31;
    thence following a line bearing N. 20 degrees 14
    minutes E. (magnetic); a distance of 62 chains 65
    links; thence westerly at a right angle a distance
    of 86 chains 40 links to the sea beach, fol-
    lowing the said beach southerly to the mouth
    of the Hokitika River; and from thence return-
    ing along the northern bank thereof and the high
    bank of the old river bed above mentioned to the
    commencing point. And also all that parcel of land
    containing 640 acres, more or less, situate on the
    Hokitika River, West Coast, bounded on the North-
    ward by Reserve 271 in red; on the Westward by the
    sea; on the East by Section No. 8238, and a line in
    continuation of the western boundary thereof; and
    on the Southward by a line at right angles to the
    last-described boundary, and about 130 chains dis-
    tant on the average from the reserve above men-
    tioned.

  5. TOTARA DISTRICT.
    Bounded on the Northward by the south bank of
    Hokitika River; on the Eastward by the Province of
    Canterbury; on the southward by the south bank of
    Mikonui River; and on the Westward by the sea
    coast, exclusive of the Town of Ross District, herein
    next defined.

  6. TOWN OF ROSS DISTRICT.
    Comprising all that piece or parcel of land, con-
    taining 200 acres, more or less, situate on the branch
    of the Totara called Donnelly's Creek, commencing
    at a point about 87 chains above its confluence
    with the Totara, having a frontage of about 50 chains
    on Donnelly's Creek, and running back in a rect-
    angular block in a south-westerly direction a
    distance of about 50 chains, to contain the quantity
    required.

  7. WAITAHIA DISTRICT.
    Bounded on the Northward by the south bank of
    the Mikonui River; on the Eastward by the Pro-
    vince of Canterbury; on the Southward by the south
    bank of the Wanganui River; and on the Westward
    by the sea coast.

  8. WATAROA DISTRICT.
    Bounded on the North by the Big Wanganui; on
    the South by the Okarito River, Mapouriki Lake and
    Potter's Creek to its source; thence by a line due east
    (magnetic) to the boundary of the Provinces of Can-
    terbury and Westland; on the East by the Province of
    Canterbury; and on the West by the sea coast; ex-
    clusive of the Town of Okarito District, herein next
    defined.

  9. TOWN OF OKARITO DISTRICT.
    Comprising all that piece or parcel of land contain-
    ing 320 acres, more or less, situate at Okarito on the
    west side of the lagoon, having a frontage of about 100
    chains to the lagoon, the south-western boundary
    being a line at right angles to the general direction
    of the coast, and the south-eastern boundary being a
    line at right angles to the last-described boundary,
    and to include the above quantity, subject to Native
    reserve.

  10. WEHEKA DISTRICT.
    Bounded on the North by the Wataroa District
    and the Town of Okarito District; on the South by
    the Paringa River to its source, thence by a right line
    due east to the boundary of the Provinces of Canter-
    bury and Westland; on the South-East by the Pro-
    vince of Canterbury; and on the North-west by the
    sea.

  11. HAAST DISTRICT.
    Bounded on the North by the southern boundary
    of the Weheka District; on the South by the Pro-
    vince of Otago; on the East by the Province of
    Canterbury; and on the West by the sea.

PROVINCE OF CANTERBURY.

  1. WAIPARA DISTRICT.
    BOUNDED on the North by the Hurunui; on the
    East by the sea; on the South by the River Waipara
    from the sea to the source of its southern branch;
    thence by a right line to the source of the River
    Ashley; thence along that river to the south-east
    boundary of pasturage run No. 235; thence by a
    straight line passing over the summit of Oxford Hill
    to the River Waimakariri, and by the south bank of
    the Waimakariri River; and on the West by a right
    line from the top of the saddle dividing the Hurunui
    from the Teremakau River, to the source of the
    River Poulter, following the western bank of that
    river to its confluence with the Waimakariri.

  2. OXFORD DISTRICT.
    Bounded on the North and West by the Waipara
    District hereinbefore defined; on the East by the
    Sefton District, and by a true north and south line
    drawn through the trig. pole C. 29, on the south
    bank of the Waimakariri; on the South by the south
    bank of the Waimakariri.

  3. SEFTON DISTRICT.
    Bounded on the North by the south bank of the
    River Waipara; on the East by the sea from the
    mouth of the Waipara to the mouth of the Ashley;
    on the South by the south bank of the Ashley from
    the sea to its confluence with the Okuku and the
