THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

District; towards the West by the boundary of the
Province; and towards the North by the waters of
Pelorus Sound, including all the islands in or about
Pelorus Sound, but excluding the Town of Havelock
District, herein next defined.

  1. TOWN OF HAVELOCK DISTRICT.
    Bounded towards the North and East by the
    waters of Pelorus Sound from the north-west corner
    of Section 97, Town of Havelock, to a point in transit
    with the southern boundary of Section numbered 219
    in the said town; thence towards the South by a
    right line to the south-western corner of said
    section; thence towards the West and North-
    west by the western boundaries of Sections numbered
    219, 218, and 217, in the said town; thence towards
    the West by a right line to the north-western corner
    of Section numbered 205 in the said town; thence by
    a right line to a public street fronting Sections
    numbered 91, 92, 93, 94, 95, and 96 in the said town;
    thence towards the South-west by the southern side
    of that street to Section numbered 98, Havelock
    Suburban; thence towards the North-west and
    West by Sections numbered 98 and 99, Havelock
    Suburban; thence towards the South-west by the
    dividing line between Section numbered 99, Havelock
    Suburban and Section numbered 100, Town of Have-
    lock, and by that line continued across Neil Street to
    Section numbered 118, Havelock Suburban; thence
    towards the North by a right line to the south-west
    corner of Section numbered 133, Town of Havelock;
    thence towards the South-west and South by
    Sections numbered 118 and 119, Havelock Suburban,
    to the south-west corner of Section numbered 117,
    Town of Havelock; thence towards the North by
    a right line to the south-west corner of Section
    numbered 128 in the said town, and thence towards
    the West by a right line to the north-west corner of
    Section numbered 97, in the said Town of Havelock.

  2. QUEEN CHARLOTTE SOUND DISTRICT.
    Bounded towards the South by the north bank of
    the Wairau River from its mouth to the junction of
    the Waikakaho Stream; thence by the Waikakaho
    Stream to its source; thence by the summit of the
    dividing range between the Kaituna and Mahaki-
    pawa and Waitohi Valleys to Cullen's Point;
    thence towards the West by the waters of Pelorus
    Sound to Blaymire Point, Kenepuru Sound; thence
    by a right line to Mount Stokes; thence by a right
    line to Cape Lambert; thence by the waters of Cook
    Strait, Queen Charlotte Sound, Port Underwood, and
    Cloudy Bay to the mouth of the Wairau River; in-
    cluding all the islands in and about Queen Charlotte
    Sound and Port Underwood, but excluding the Town
    of Picton District, herein next defined.

  3. TOWN OF PICTON DISTRICT.
    As defined by the original plan thereof in the
    Crown Lands Office, Picton; and all adjacent lands
    within ten chains of the said town.

  4. WAIRAU DISTRICT.
    Bounded towards the North and West by the sea,
    from the mouth of the Awatere River to the mouth
    of the Wairau River; thence by the north bank of
    the Wairau River and the Onamalutu Creek, to the
    south-west corner of Section 106, District of Kai-
    tuna; thence by the western boundary of Sections
    106 and 107, Kaituna; thence by a line to the
    nearest point on the summit of the watershed
    between the Onamalutu and Kaituna Valleys, and
    by that watershed to the summit ef the dividing
    range between the Pelorus and Wairau Valleys;
    thence by that summit to the boundary of the Pro-
    vince; and by that boundary to Barefells Pass;
    thence on the South and East by the Awatere
    District; excluding the Town of Blenheim District,
    herein next defined.

  5. TOWN OF BLENHEIM DISTRICT.
    Consisting of Sections 46, 47, 48, Opawa, and of
    Sections 1, 3, 50, and 51, Omaka, as shown on the
    New Zealand Company's plan of the Wairau Plains.

  6. AWATERE DISTRICT.
    Bounded towards the North by the sea from Cape
    Campbell to the Awatere River; thence towards the
    North and West by the Awatere River, from its
    mouth to a point in Section 30, Wakefield Downs,
    being the south-western corner of the boundary of
    the Vernon Run; thence by a right line to the south-
    western corner of Section 28, Wakefield Downs;
    thence by the eastern side of the road between
    Sections 33 and 29, Wakefield Downs, and Sections
    4 of Block I., and 2 of Block I., District of Awatere,
    to the Utawai Stream; thence by the Utawai
    Stream to the northern boundary of Section 2, Block
    I, District of Awatere; thence along that boundary
    to Maxwell Pass Stream; thence by the Maxwell
    Pass Stream to the watershed; thence by a tributary
    of the Taylor River to the Taylor River at the base
    of the hill called the Maori; thence by the eastern
    side of the Taylor Pass Road to its junction with the
    road between Sections 28 and 48, Omaka; thence by
    that road to the western side of the Taylor Pass
    Road; thence by the western side of the Taylor Pass
    Road to the junction of the Taylor Pass Creek with
    the Taylor River; thence by the Taylor River to the
    summit of the dividing range between the Wairau and
    Awatere Valleys, and by that summit to Barefells
    Pass; thence by the boundary of the Province to
    the junction of the Acheron and Clarence Rivers;
    towards the East and South by the boundary of the
    Province to the Clarence River; thence by the
    Clarence River to the sea; thence by the sea to
    Cape Campbell.

  7. KAIKOURA DISTRICT.
    Bounded towards the North and West by the
    Clarence River to the boundary of the Province;
    towards the South by the boundary of the Province
    to the sea; towards the East by the sea, to the
    mouth of the Clarence River.

PROVINCE OF NELSON.

  1. AMURI DISTRICT.
    Starting from the Top House, and taking the
    boundary line between the Provinces of Marlborough
    and Nelson, to the mouth of the River Conway;
    thence by the coast line to the mouth of the Hurunui
    River; thence by the banks of the Hurunui River and
    Lake Sumner to the top of the saddle between the
    Teremakau and Hurunui Rivers; thence by a line
    to Mount Princess; thence by a line to Mount St.
    Arnaud; and thence by a line to the Top House.

  2. WAIMEA SOUTH DISTRICT.
    Bounded towards the North-east by a line drawn
    from Mount Arthur to the junction of the River
    Wangapeka with the River Motueka; thence by a
    line drawn to the source of the Pigeon Valley
    Stream; thence by the Pigeon Valley Stream to its
    junction with the Wai-iti; thence by the Wai-iti to
    its junction with the Waimea; and thence by the
    boundary of the Waimea East District to a point about
    two miles south of Mount Rintoul; thence by the
    boundary line between the Nelson and Marlborough
    Provinces to the Top House; thence by a line west
    (magnetic) to the summit of the nearest point of the
    northern watershed of Lake Rotoiti, and the Rotoiti
