Te Hemara Kahukoti in the said land shall be and
remain vested in

HETA TE POUTU,
as Trustee within the meaning and for the purposes
of the said Act for the said Henare Hemara during
his minority.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Province of Auckland,
in the Colony of New Zealand, containing by ad-
measurement 18 acres, more or less, situate at Wai-
kare, in the Bay of Islands District, County of Bed-
ford, being called or known by the name of "Kohe-
kohe," and numbered 1169. Bounded-towards the
North-east by a line, 355 links; towards the East by
a line and by Cook's land, 1068 links and 631 links;
towards the South by the Manukau Block, 290 links,
358 links, 1557 links; and on all other sides by the
Waikare River.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
seventeenth day of October, 1873.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

W HEREAS by "The Waste Lands Act, 1858,"
it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the
Governor in Council at any time, and from time to
time, to except from sale, and either reserve to Her
Majesty or dispose of in such other manner as for
the public interest may seem best, such of the waste
lands of the Crown in any of the Provinces of the
Colony as may be required for the purposes of
military defence, or for the construction of trunk
lines of road, or as sites for public buildings for the
use of the General Government, or for other pur-
poses of public utility or convenience:

Now therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by
and with the advice of the Executive Council of the
Colony, in exercise and in pursuance of the power
and authority in that behalf vested in him, doth
hereby except from sale and reserve to Her Majesty
the several parcels of the waste lands of the Crown
particularly specified and described in the Schedule
hereunder written, for the purposes in the said
Schedule mentioned, and set opposite the descriptions
of the said parcels of land respectively.

the Province of Otago.

NOTICE is hereby given, that the several parcels
of waste lands of the Crown particularly
specified and described in the Schedule hereunder
written are required for the purposes mentioned and
set opposite to the descriptions of the said parcels of
land respectively in the said Schedule, and that
the same have been respectively excepted from
sale and reserved to Her Majesty by the Orders in
Council bearing the dates mentioned in the second
column of the said Schedule.

THE following amendments to the Regulations for
the conduct of Public Business published in the
New Zealand Gazette, No. 5, of the 23rd January,
1873, are published for general information.

WILLIAM H. REYNOLDS,
(in the absence of the Colonial Secretary).

THE following Departments are transferred from
the control of the Colonial Secretary to that of the
Minister of Public Works, viz. :-

PUBLIC DOMAINS,
PUBLIC BUILDINGS,
COLONIAL ARCHITECT ;

and the control of the Government Annuities Depart-
ment is transferred from the Colonial Secretary to
that of the Colonial Treasurer.

Alteration in Hours of Office Attendance.

THE following amendments to the Regulations for
the Civil Service published in the New Zealand
Gazette, No. 5, of the 23rd January, 1873, are pub-
lished for general information.

ON and after the 1st day of November, 1873, the
official hours of attendance shall be from 9.30 a.m.
to 4.30 p.m., except on Saturdays, when they shall
be from 9.30 a.m. to 2 p.m.; but half an hour will be
allowed in the middle of the day for luncheon, ar-
rangements being made that a sufficient number of
Clerks shall remain in each office to prevent its being
closed.

Justices of the Peace appointed.

Department of Justice,
Wellington, 20th October, 1873.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to
appoint

JOHN LEWIS COSTER, Esq., of Christchurch ;
DAVID HEAN, Esq., of Auckland; and
WILLIAM ROUTLEDGE, Esq., of Napier,
to be Justices of the Peace for the Colony.
