latter creek with the Upper Taieri River, in the
Province of Otago, as the centre line thereof is
pegged on the ground, and as the limits, description,
and line thereof are set forth in the plan, and which
plan is authenticated, for the purposes of this Pro-
clamation, by the signature of the Honorable
Edward Richardson, Minister for Public Works, and
is deposited in the office of the Registrar of the
Supreme Court at Otago; or within the limits of
deviation set forth on the said plan by dotted red
lines, being not more than 220 yards on either side
of the said line, except where otherwise delineated
on the said plan, and passing in, through, into, or over
the several sections of land, roads, reserves, rivers,
places, and watercourses shown on the said plan.
The streams of water intended to be taken for the
purpose of supplying the said works are the Manu-
herikia River and its tributaries, and all other
streams and watercourses intervening between the
point of commencement and the point of termina-
tion.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Right Honorable Sir James Fergusson,
Baronet, a Member of Her Majesty's Most
Honorable Privy Council, Governor and
Commander-in-Chief in and over Her
Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its
Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the
same; and issued under the Seal of the
said Colony, at Wellington, this seven-
teenth day of October, in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-three.

Appointing Trustees under "The Maori Real Estate
Management Act, 1867."

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
seventeenth day of October, 1873.

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
W HEREAS by "The Maori Real Estate Manage-
ment Act, 1867," it is enacted, that if any
title to or interest in any hereditaments shall accrue
to any Maoris, who or any of whom shall be infants,
lunatics, or under legal disability, it shall be lawful
for the Governor in Council, if he think fit, to order
that such hereditaments, or any part thereof or
interest therein as shall to the Governor in Council
be shown to belong to such infant, lunatic, or other
person under legal disability, shall be vested in
trustees, as the Governor in Council shall think fit:
And whereas, by virtue of a certificate of title
bearing date the fourth day of August, 1873, the
parcel of land and hereditaments described in the
Schedule hereto became vested in Poata Makuini,
Peke Te Moananui, Te Moananui Tupaea, and
Nepiha Kopu: And whereas the said Poata
Makuini, Peke Te Moananui, and Te Moananui
Tupaea are infants under the age of twenty-one
years:

Now therefore, His Excellency Sir James Fer-
gusson, Baronet, the Governor of New Zealand, with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of
the Colony, in exercise and in pursuance of the
powers and authorities vested in him by the said
Act, doth hereby order that the land described in
the Schedule hereto shall be and remain vested in
HAORA TUPAEA, and
HIRAWA TE MOANANUI,
as Trustees within the meaning and for the purposes
of the said Act for the said Poata Makuini, Peke Te
Moananui, and Te Moananui Tupaea, during their
minority.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece or parcel of land at Umangawha, in
the District of Coromandel, in the Province of
Auckland, and called or known by the name of
Rangiahu, containing by admeasurement 209 acres
and 6 perches, be the same more or less. Bounded
towards the North by lines 401 links, 712 links,
188 links, 258 links, 221 links, 383 links, 324 links,
334 links, 271 links, 360 links, 432 links, 455 links,
279 links, 368 links, 337 links, 800 links, 502 links,
688 links, 645 links, and 1,062 links; towards the
East by lines 487 links, and 82 links; towards the
South-east by a line 9,021 links; towards the South-
west by the Umangawha Creek; and towards the
West by the Hauwai Block, 613 links, and by the
said block and a line 245 links, and by lines 221
links, 204 links, 600 links, 160 links, 153 links, 218
links, 400 links, 377 links, and 189 links.

became vested in Te Hemara Kahukoti and Were-
kake Pohakena, of the District of Bay of Islands, in
the Province of Auckland, aboriginal natives of New
Zealand: And whereas Te Hemara Kahukoti, one
of the persons named in the said Crown grant, died
intestate: And whereas at a sitting of the Native
Land Court held at Te Kawa Kawa, in the Province
aforesaid, on the second day of August, one thousand
eight hundred and seventy-three, Henare Hemara, a
minor, claimed to succeed to the interest of the said
Te Hemara Kahukoti in the said parcel of land
described in the said Schedule, and it was ordered by
the said Court that the said Henare Hemara should
succeed to the hereditaments aforesaid, and it is ex-
pedient that Heta Te Poutu be appointed Trustee
under the said Act on behalf of the said Henare
Hemara during his minority :

Now therefore, His Excellency Sir James Fer-
gusson, Baronet, the Governor of New Zealand, with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of
the Colony, in exercise and pursuance of the powers
and authorities vested in him by the said Act, doth
hereby order that the estate or interest of the said
