WEST COAST OF NORTH ISLAND.
Customs Department (Marine Branch),
Wellington, 1st August, 1872.
NOTICE is hereby given, that on and after the
10th day of August, 1872, a bright Fixed White
Light will be exhibited from the Flagstaff on Wanga-
nui North Head, at a height of sixty-five (65) feet
above high water, and will be visible in clear weather
at a distance of thirteen (13) miles, allowing ten (10)
feet for the height of the observer's eye.
This Light will show all round the horizon sea-
ward; and Masters of Vessels are hereby warned
that this is not a guiding light, wherewith to clear
any danger, but is intended solely to enable them to
keep their position off the port.

the Writ issued by him on the 19th day of July,
1872, for the Election of a Member of the House
of Representatives of New Zealand for the Electoral
District hereinafter specified; and by the indorsment
on such Writ it appears that the under-mentioned
gentleman has been duly elected Member for such
District, viz.:-

left Melbourne two years ago.

Order of Odd Fellows, Manchester Unity;"

"The Court Unity, No. 5025, of the Nelson,
New Zealand, Ancient Order of Foresters,"
duly certified, has been lodged with the Registrar of
Friendly Societies, registered and recorded in his
office, under the provisions of "The Friendly Societies
Act, 1867."

She landed in Auckland, from the "Mary Shepard,"

to Nelson, and was residing at the Nelson Hotel in
September, 1867.
