THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

the Colony, in exercise and in pursuance of the
powers and authorities vested in him by the said
Act, doth hereby order that the estate or interest
of the said Hanita Te Maero, in the said lands so
granted and described in the said Schedule, shall be
and remain vested in the said Heta Tiki, of the Waipawa District, in the Province of Hawke’s Bay,
aboriginal native of New Zealand, as Trustee within
the meaning and for the purposes of the said Act for
the said Iriwhata during his minority.

Paora, of the District of Wairoa, in the Province
aforesaid, aboriginal natives of New Zealand, as
Trustees within the meaning and for the purposes of
the said Act for the said Piripi Ngahuka and Te
Pora during their minority.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land containing by admeasurement
1407 acres, more or less, situate at the Wairoa, in
the District of Ahuriri, in the Province of Hawke’s
Bay, being called or known by the name of “Te
Whakaki,” and numbered 2361. Bounded towards
the North by the Tukemokihi No. 2 Block, 15,000
links; towards the East by the Hereheretaua, 7275
links and 4970 links; towards the South by the sea;
and towards the West by the Wairau Block and by
the Tukemokihi No. 2 Block aforesaid, 12,420 links.


ALL that piece or parcel of land containing by
admeasurement 377 acres, more or less, situate at
Waipawa, in the District of Ahuriri, Province of
Hawke’s Bay, being called or known by the name of
“Te Tapairu,” and numbered 484. Bounded towards
the North by the Waipawa River; towards the
South-east by Te Whataarakai Block, 9230 links and
2930 links; towards the West by Block 14, Waipukurau District, 1450 links, 3620 links, and 3000
links, to the commencing point on the Waipawa
River.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Auckland, this
twenty-seventh day of April, 1872.

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by “The Maori Real Estate Management Act, 1867,” it is enacted that if any
title to or interest in any hereditaments shall accrue
to any Maoris who, or any of whom, shall be infants,
lunatics, or under legal disability, it shall be lawful
for the Governor in Council, if he think fit, to order
that such hereditaments, or any part thereof or
interest therein, as shall to the Governor in Council
be shown to belong to such infant, lunatic, or
other person under legal disability, shall be vested
in trustees, as the Governor in Council shall think fit:
And whereas by virtue of a certificate of title
made the 18th day of November, 1870, the parcel of
land and hereditaments described in the Schedule
hereon written became vested in Hamana Tiakiwai,
Tonowharekura, Peru Tataramoa, Heni Hie, Raipona,
Tipene Wharangi, Tiopira Kaukaum, Teka, Te Otini
Ngahuka, and Paraone Ahirone, of the District of
Wairoa, in the Province of Hawke’s Bay, aboriginal
natives of New Zealand: And whereas Te Otini
Ngahuka, one of the persons named in the said
certificate of title, died intestate: And whereas at
a Native Lands Court held at Wairoa, in the said
Province, Piripi Ngahuka and Te Pora, minors,
claimed to succeed to the interest of the said Te Otini
Ngahuka in the said parcel of land described in the
said Schedule, and it was ordered by the said Court
that the said Piripi Ngahuka and Te Pora should
succeed to the hereditaments aforesaid; and it is
expedient that Paora and Piripi Ngahuka, uncle to
the said Piripi Ngahuka and Te Pora, be appointed
Trustees under the said Act on behalf of the said
Piripi Ngahuka and Te Pora during their minority:

Now therefore, His Excellency Sir George Ferguson
Bowen, the Governor of New Zealand, with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of
New Zealand, in exercise and in pursuance of the
powers and authorities vested in him by the said Act,
doth hereby order that the estate or interest of the
said Te Otini Ngahuka in the said land so described
in the said Schedule shall be and remain vested in
the said Paora and Piripi Ngahuka, of the District of
Wairoa, in the said Province, aboriginal natives of
New Zealand, as Trustees within the meaning and
for the purposes of the said Act for the said Piripi
Ngahuka and Te Pora during their minority.
