A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by "The Bridges and Ferries Act
1868 Amendment Act, 1869," it is enacted
that the Governor may from time to time, by Pro-
clamation in the New Zealand Gazette, declare "The
Bridges and Ferries Act, 1868," to be in operation
in any Province, and on a day to be fixed in such
Proclamation "The Bridges and Ferries Act, 1868,"
shall come into operation in such Province: And
whereas it is expedient that the said last-mentioned
Act should be brought into operation in the Pro-
vince of Wellington, as and in manner hereinafter
mentioned :
Now therefore, I, Sir George Ferguson Bowen,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pur-
suance and exercise of the power and authority
vested in me by the said first-mentioned Act, do
hereby proclaim and declare that, on the twenty-
seventh day of March, one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-two, "The Bridges and Ferries Act,
1868," shall be in operation in the Province of
Wellington.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir
George Ferguson Bowen, Knight Grand
Cross of the Most Distinguished Order
of Saint Michael and Saint George,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-
Admiral of the same, at the Government

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-seventh day of March, 1872.
Present :
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by "The Court of Appeal Act, 1862,"
and "The Court of Appeal Act Amendment
Act, 1870," it is enacted that the Court shall hold
its sittings at such times and places as shall be from
time to time fixed by the Governor in Council and
proclaimed in the Government Gazette thirty days
at least before the times so fixed respectively : Now
therefore, His Excellency the Governor, with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of New
Zealand, doth hereby fix that a sitting of the Court
of Appeal of New Zealand shall be held within the
Supreme Court House, in the City of Wellington
and Province of Wellington, upon the thirteenth day
of May, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
two, at eleven o'clock in the forenoon.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-seventh day of March, 1872.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by "The Bridges and Ferries Act,
1868 Amendment Act, 1869," it is enacted
that it shall be lawful for the Governor in Council, at
the time of making any Proclamation bringing "The
Bridges and Ferries Act, 1868," into operation in
all or any of the powers by "The Bridges and Ferries
Act, 1868," vested in the Governor and exercisable
by him within the Province in such Proclamation
mentioned, except the powers conferred by the second
section of the said Act, to the Superintendent of the
Province in which the said Act shall be so brought
into operation as in the said first-mentioned Act
particularly set forth : And whereas by a Proclama-
tion bearing even date herewith, His Excellency the
Governor has declared that, on the twenty-seventh
day of March, one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-two, "The Bridges and Ferries Act, 1868,"
shall be in operation in the Province of Wellington :
And whereas it is expedient that the delegation
hereinafter mentioned should be made to the Super-
intendent of the said Province :
Now therefore, His Excellency Sir George
Bowen, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in
him by "The Bridges and Ferries Act 1868 Amend-
ment Act, 1869," and by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said Colony,
doth hereby delegate to
WILLIAM FITZHERBERT, Esq.,
Superintendent of the Province of Wellington, all
the powers by "The Bridges and Ferries Act, 1868,"
vested in the Governor and exercisable by him
within the said Province of Wellington, except the
powers conferred by the second section of the said
Act, to hold the same to the said William Fitzherbert
so long as he shall be and remain such Superinten-
dent as aforesaid.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this
twenty-eighth day of March, 1872.
Present :
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly
of New Zealand, intituled "The Native Re-
serves Amendment Act, 1862," it is, amongst other
things, provided that where, under the provisions of
"The Native Reserves Act, 1856," the assent of the
aboriginal inhabitants is required to bringing land
under the operation of the said "Native Reserves
Act, 1856," the Governor may, by Order in Council,
declare such assent to have been ascertained, and
thereupon the title of the aboriginal inhabitants in
the land to which the same shall relate shall be
deemed to be extinguished, and the land shall, from
the date of such Order in Council, vest in Her
Majesty for the purposes and subject to the provi-
sions of the said "Native Reserves Act, 1856," as
altered by the recited Act, and that as effectually as
if the same had been ceded and conveyed by such
aboriginal inhabitants to Her Majesty :
Now therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive
